The Quality Lead is an integral member of the Quality Management Office (QMO) and will help develop, implement, and institutionalize processes; participate in the Engineering Process Group (EPG); work closely with the Program Management Office (PMO) and Project Management, communicating issues that may impact the execution of multiple projects.

The Quality Lead will be tasked with coordinating and managing tasks performed by the QMO Team, validating that quality processes are compliant with OSTS processes and procedures, CMMI models, and System Development Life Cycle frameworks. This position does not have any direct reports.

The Quality Lead will leverage and integrate with quantitative management initiatives, such as earned value management and service level agreements, to support comprehensive process improvement implementation.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the organization in achieving and maintaining CMMI compliance
  • Design and implement a comprehensive Quality Assurance strategy for assigned projects
  • Establish and maintain a SharePoint site to house all QA documentation, test plans, and reports
  • Collaborate with the project team to develop and implement Management Plans, ensuring alignment with QA best practices
  • Translate client Quality requirements into actionable plans and procedures for the project team
  • Conduct thorough reviews of all deliverables prior to client submission, identifying and documenting any potential issues
  • Develop and deliver training programs to project resources on various QA processes, methodologies, and tools
  • Foster a culture of quality within the project team
  • Establish and maintain a Measurement and Analysis (MA) process for tracking QA activities and project performance
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret QA metrics, sharing insights and recommendations with stakeholders
  • Conduct periodic audits to identify areas for improvement in the project process as per the organizational processes and guidelines
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to develop and implement corrective action plans based on audit findings
  • Act as a liaison between the organization’s Quality team and the project team, ensuring clear communication and collaboration
  • Developing and supporting quality processes on full SDLC teams
  • Developing, managing, and ensuring compliance to quality assurance processes (CMMI, ISO, ITIL, Six Sigma)
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work with/for all Project Managers in the organization as well as the OSTSOSTS PMO
  • Excellent presentation and reporting skills; as this position requires interaction with OSTS Senior Management
  • Can-do attitude- this person must be hands-on, not just evaluating the quality processes currently in place, but helping each and every project achieve compliance. Must be flexible, and can work with many different layers of management and project teams
  • Responsible for the coordination and planning of QMO new hire orientation activities
  • Gathering, analyzing, and presenting metrics and progress on implementation and raising any items that are not complying with the contract and defined quality standards
  • Supporting Appraisal activities for CMMI certification for the organization
  • Managing tasks using MS Project and reporting status to senior management
  • Performing other duties as assigned by PSO Senior Management

Required Qualifications:

  • Successfully completed CMMI Institute-sponsored “Foundations of Capability”; and be able to provide a Certificate of CMMI Associate or Certified CMMI professional
  • 8+ years of relevant quality assurance or process improvement experience
  • 5+ years of experience implementing or applying CMMI for Development or CMMI for Services
  • 3+ years of experience managing junior-level quality professionals
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance, if required

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $104,700 to $190,400 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
