This position will be part of the OptumRx Government Programs Operations Department and play a key role in providing best in class CMS beneficiary member communications support for those clients contracted with the OptumRx Employer Group Waiver Plan Prescription Drug Plan (EGWP) specific to the State of New Jersey.

As a Senior Communication Specialist, you’ll have the opportunity to provide service and analysis to support the operations and business objectives of the Medicare Part D Member Communications Department. This is a position that affords you the ability to drive process as well as best practices in the overall management of the CMS process for our clients. By providing process oversight and utilizing your sharp analytical skills to fulfill the needs of the business and clients, you will have an impact on healing the health care system.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • This is a critical position within the Medicare Part D Communications Team
  • Demonstrated experience in working with client needs and internal Account Management to manage timelines and resolve issues
  • Excellent interpersonal skills both verbally and in writing
  • Must be able to promote and ensure client satisfaction via timely and accurate responses, clear communication, and ongoing education of Account Management staff as it relates to CMS marketing guidelines, processes, and procedures
  • This position will track and monitor member communications to ensure all materials are created, approved, finalized, and implemented timely and resolve any issues associated with such communications
  • Proofread client – specific member letters to ensure correct data is populated based on final approved documents
  • Facilitate updates to all communications throughout the yearly readiness cycle
  • Attend conference calls with clients, Account Management and vendor as needed
  • Assist with new client implementations
  • Act as primary liaison to account management for any ad hoc communications, updates, etc
  • Support special projects as needed
  • Support other Government Program processes during non-peak season

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years prior experience with Medicare Part D operations including an understanding of regulatory guidance
  • 1 + years of experience in compiling and editing documentation
  • Cross – collaboration skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years project management or account management experience
  • 3+ years prior experience within the PBM industry
  • Experience and demonstrated familiarity with EGWP member communications
  • Experience gathering and documenting customer requirements in a form and manner to best support client and CMS expectations
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work under tight time frames and think outside the box with strong emphasis on overall quality
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
