This Data Analyst 2 position with data engineering emphasis supports the ongoing digital transformation and modernization of internal audit’s risk assessment, audit execution, and risk monitoring activities. This position is responsible for supporting Internal Audit engagements with scalable, end-to-end ETL and analytic processes. Additionally, the role is responsible for working closely with data analytics teams to create robust scripted data solutions, develop and support business monitoring tools, and support existing data systems and analytic reports. This includes identifying and integrating data sources, assessing data quality, and developing and executing data analytic tools/languages to support audit work. This role is integral to our strategy to enable Internal Audit with data driven insights and bring value to our business partners.
The role will challenge you to leverage your data analytics skills on a variety of initiatives in a hands-on role, as well as the opportunity to develop your skills as an auditor in a matrixed and cross-functional internal audit department.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop solutions against systems and data-sources to retrieve and validate data
- Collect data from multiple data sources and perform data integration, data matching/linkages, standardization, and storage
- Develop extracts, reports, and analysis using complex data and information from data warehouses and other sources
- Use analytic tools to script/program/visualize the data and objectives
- Execute technology enablement projects to drive modernization through scaled automation and modernization of key functionality
- Use various modeling and statistical analysis tools to develop data driven insights to support operational reporting
- Troubleshoot code issues and fix them in a timely manner
- Perform data quality checks to ensure data accuracy in reports and extracts
- Closely monitor policies and system updates to identify impacts to the reports and data analysis
- Prepare technical documentation and narratives to support the logic and methodologies used in the data analysis
- Provide support to data analytics team on data sources, reporting, and analytic capabilities and methods
- Work with cross-functional teams to understand data requests and needs to establish requirements for reports and analysis
- Collaborate with Information Technology and Vendor staff to report and follow-up on any technical issues related to data loads and data issues
- Manage and maintain Data Analytics platforms including being a custodian of Protected information
- Support execution of special projects as directed by Internal Audit executive leadership

Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of SQL programming and engineering experience inclusive of utilizing stored procedures, views, and triggers
- 4+ years programming in Python or R
- 2+ years of experience in database management and process documentation
- 2+ years of experience in end-to-end development of automated ETL pipelines with various data sources and types (e.g., SQL Server, flat files, XML, JSON)
- 2+ years of experience in developing scalable solutions with SSIS, Data Factory, Python, or R
- 2+ years of statistical analysis, data modeling experience
- 2+ years of data visualization experience (Tableau and/or PowerBI)
- Solid interpersonal and analytical skills while working effectively with a matrixed team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of Big Data tools, Cloud platforms, SQL Server database engineering
- Data Science experience including regression analysis and machine learning techniques
- Experience with conducting automation surrounding API calls
- Change management tool experience (e.g., Github, Jenkins, or similar)
- RPA experience (UiPath, etc.)
- Internal Audit / Control experience
- Experience working in a Healthcare Industry and or a complex IT environment is desirable
- Solid oral and written communication skills

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with al minimum wage laws as applicable.
