Are you passionate about driving business growth and innovation? As the Director of Business Development, Clinical Decision Support, you will play a pivotal role in identifying and capitalizing on market opportunities to enhance the launch and scaling of our CDS product portfolio in the provider market. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategies that drive growth and profitability.
The Director of Business Development for Clinical Decision Support is a business leader responsible for partnering with business executives and cross-functional teams to drive the growth and market penetration of our CDS product portfolio. This leader will work with cross-functional teams to lead the design of innovative and differentiated business development strategies to drive business growth. They will then lead the execution and launch of these strategies, ensuring cross-functional alignment around a unified approach, working closely with sales, operations, technology, marketing, and finance.
This role will be the Business Development Leader for some of our most significant growth opportunities, working closely with the General Manager(s) of the business units within Optum Insights CDS Innovation Pillar.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead development and execution of business development strategy for provider-facing Clinical Decision Support products and solutions
- Develop deep understanding of CDS product portfolio, value proposition and product-market fit
- Establish and maintain breadth and depth of relationships with prospective customers, external partners and internal stakeholders
- Collaborate with sales and marketing to develop and implement go to market strategies that accelerate product launches and drive revenue growth
- Partner with internal product teams to provide market insights that drive continuous product improvement
- Partner with product business leads to support commercialization activities including market research, pricing analyses, negotiations and contracting
- Create innovative business models and business cases that accelerate partnerships and sales
- Primary lead responsible for securing alpha and beta commercial partners across new CDS product offerings
- Develop targeted segment analysis to research and identify potential targets from various sources and actively collaborate across the enterprise to secure early partner conversations
- Lead early partner conversations by scheduling and leading virtual meetings as well as face to face meetings to pitch the programs and value propositions
- Drive revenue by using a consultative sales process to probe for customer information and barriers that guides development of creative solutions to sell and drive contracting forward

Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of professional experience in business development, strategy, commercialization or related roles
- 5+ years of experience in the healthcare industry
- 2+ years of experience in business development activities
- High proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Proven solid action orientation and organizational skills, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a high pace environment
- Proven excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Proven proficiency in financial modeling and data-driven decision-making
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in management consulting or general management
- Experience within a provider organization
- Experience leading business development and go-to-market activities for new or emerging provider-facing solutions and products
- Experience in independently creating executive-level, visually compelling presentations for internal and external stakeholders
- Experience with UnitedHealth Group (Optum or UnitedHealth Care)
- Deep understanding of the healthcare ecosystem, including payers and providers

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
