This is an exciting role in the growing Optum Home and Community division within UnitedHealth Group. This role will primarily be responsible for data development and operational support on our H&C enterprise-wide innovative DWaaS platform. This platform is critical to our Leadership, Product, Finance, Accounting, Networking, Clinical and all other Home and Community teams within SCC, OAH and External partners. Key activities include data architecture, mappings, validation and support for reporting. This requires partnering with various business and technical stakeholders to develop innovative data and reporting solutions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ability to elicit data needs and define requirements for reporting solutions which includes driving consensus across multiple stakeholders who often have different priorities and needs as well as providing guidance for business stakeholders on how to beset understand, build and use data
  • Facilitate working sessions with various types of business and technical stakeholders with a goal of documenting clear and concise requirements to ensure accuracy with all stakeholders
  • Ability to analyze and interpret source system data and translating it into our data warehouse efficiently and precisely
  • Partner with BI & Report development resources to solution reporting needs whether existing or new data
  • Support an iterative data and report development process and serve as a liaison between the BI and Data developers
  • Support end-users with answering questions, teaching stakeholders how to use the data, and ensuring our data strategy is innovative and sustainable driving high quality and performance while minimizing latency and down time

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years Business/Data analysis experience
  • Experience with leading, delegating and coordinating requirement activities with solid thought leadership often independently
  • Experience documenting business requirements according to project needs or established methodologies and communicate them in a clear manner across a variety of partners (Technology, Business, BI, QA)
  • Expert SQL query writing skills and ability to perform exhaustive validation on various relational database objects
  • Proven solid data requirement gathering, mapping and validation skills using large, complex domains

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in healthcare payer, clinical domain or similar
  • Experience supporting health care-specific business intelligence and reporting needs
  • Experience working within an agile (i.e., Scrum or Kanban) framework and familiarity with user story definition
  • Experience with SharePoint Online, Power Apps and Power Automate
  • Experience with Agile management applications such as Rally
  • Exposure to new product development lifecycle concepts
  • Familiarity with change management concepts (communications, training materials and activities, etc.)
  • Familiarity with data visualization best practices and techniques, and desire to build this skill
  • Data Centric mindset versed in relational databases and basic data architecture, ability to read/write SQL in Microsoft SQL Server, and basic exposure to DWaaS (Data Warehousing as a Service – Snowflake)
  • Proven to develop proven methodologies to measure projects post-delivery to demonstrate ROI success
  • Proven to be comfortable leading complex projects operating in a matrixed environment with limited direction
  • Proven to be comfortable with frequent refinements in priorities and scope

Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $88,000 to $173,200 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
