As a Dir. UX Design, you will lead a team and have ownership over a journey/portfolio. You will work with other designers, strategists, researchers and content strategists to develop and translate the product strategy into a compelling design vision.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a broad portfolio of work
  • Build and distill the broad experience design vision and principles into design opportunities and strategies to solve
  • Lead teams in translating abstract concepts and problems into simple, elegant, and innovative designs expressed in sketches, diagrams, and rapid prototypes for responsive, mobile, and conversational channels
  • Provide design recommendations based on technical feasibility, usability findings, A11y, legal and design best practices
  • Demonstrates curiosity and growth mindset contributing to a product design environment that supports continuous learning and innovation
  • Leverages best practice design principles and trends to contribute with insights and stellar user experiences
  • Be a trusted design partner in a cross functional team (designers, engineers, product, researchers etc.), delivery designs on time and to the highest quality
  • Collaborate and contribute reusable design components in partnership with Design System team
  • Work on multiple projects at a time
  • Makes research and design decisions that takes into health equity considerations (including but not limited to: disability status, health literacy levels, demographics, cultural backgrounds, etc.) to improve healthcare access for all members
  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Design Strategy & Thought leadership

  • Generalist with a solid understanding of the various UX disciplines ((UX design, including service design, research, IA, visual, prototyping, etc)
  • Create frameworks, tool kits, ways of working to influence and inform team process
  • Thinking systematically to deliver both effective short term solutions and the foresight and drive to push for industry- and ground breaking experiences
  • Effectively owns and communicates across a portfolio of work design strategy (plans, approach & progress/status of designs and design ideas, design backlog, etc)
  • Willingness to constructively challenge current thinking across the enterprise, pushing boundaries and driving change that will deliver exceptional user-centric experiences
  • Establishing an environment of design thought leadership in the organization
  • Mastery ability to frame the problem space and structure and assign the work to be done
  • Advances health equity goals by partnering with clinical and quality measure teams; advocates for population data when not available

Team leadership & management

  • Leading a team of designers and potentially other leaders
  • Leading a portfolio of work
  • Leading an inspiring, collaborative, creative and inclusive environment for designers to do their best work
  • Reviewing and approving work performed by teammates, partners and agencies and providing recommendations for improvement
  • Leading through ambiguity and changing user needs and leads others in solving complex problems
  • Effective people leader: attracts, leads, manages and mentors employees to ensure retention, development and exceptional performance.
  • Establish the team culture, and promoting engagement

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of hands on experience with information architecture, interaction design, ux design or graphic design
  • 8+ years of experience with prominent industry design tools (Figma, Miro, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Axure)
  • 7+ years working with cross functional stakeholders including Technology, Product, Operations, Business, Analytics, Voice of the Customer, etc.
  • 7+ years of experience presenting to stakeholders
  • 7+ years of implementing and maintaining best practices as it relates to the multiple layers and process of design
  • 6+ years planning and facilitating workshops and/or presenting to key partners and decisions makers
  • 4+ years of experience managing, mentoring, or providing direction to other UX designers on a project that you led
