UMR, UnitedHealthcare’s third-party administrator (TPA) solution, is seeking an experienced Senior Product Owner who is business savvy, highly technical and loves to stay busy, own projects, and interact/collaborate with multiple co-workers.

This position will act as a liaison between our UMR business and IT teams, working to translate business requirements into actionable Agile deliverables. The Senior Product Owner will work cross-functionally to identify technical requirements that align with business needs, remove roadblocks, identify timelines, and more, to produce high-quality, key deliverables.

The ideal candidate will be able to develop and maintain positive relationships with cross-functional team members, establish trust and credibility in a matrix organization, as well as demonstrate effective interpersonal, influence, collaboration and listening skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a key business and technical facilitator for UMR’s Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) instance, interpreting business requirements and translating them into technical requirements for complex projects
  • Work closely with the SFMC Product Manager to break down funded Capabilities into Features with thorough descriptions and acceptance criteria in the Rally Tool for Agile Development
  • Work closely with the SFMC Development Lead and other cross-functional technical teams to identify requirements needed for the creation of User Stories to break down the Features assigned to the SFMC technical teams
  • Bring together key business and IT stakeholders across multiple product teams to facilitate new development work identified by the SFMC Product Manager
  • Collaborate with cross-functional business and technical teams to plan timelines (in accordance with UMR program increments (PIs)), and deliverables to meet key deadlines in accordance with funded Capabilities
  • Remove roadblocks, manage dependencies, and adjust timelines, as necessary, for technical teams to be able to proceed with work in a timely manner
  • Continually look for ways to help the team raise quality, increase throughput, decrease delivery time, and deliver high-quality work
  • Accept User Stories based on testing that demonstrates they meet the acceptance criteria laid out via the Feature within funded Capabilities

Communication Skills:

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with cross-functional team members, establish trust and credibility in a matrix organization, and demonstrate effective interpersonal, influence, collaboration and listening skills
  • Utilize excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines while being able to respond quickly and accurately to change
  • Be able to adjust language to “translate” between business and technical needs for development teams, tailoring questions and answers, as needed, to ensure teams are in alignment

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience working with the Rally Tool for Agile Development
  • 2+ years of demonstrated experience working with email marketing platforms (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud, HubSpot Marketing Hub, Adobe Experience Cloud/Journey Optimizer, etc.)
  • Experience communicating with business and technical leaders

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in health care/health insurance and/or pharmacy industry
  • Experience working in Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC)
  • Experience working with the Adobe Experience Platform suite of products (including Adobe Journey Optimizer)
  • Experience working in a matrix organization
  • Project management experience

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with al minimum wage laws as applicable.
