Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute an education plan to drive awareness of Optum services, build pipeline and enhance close ratios for new business with assigned brokerage and consultant firms
- Develop strategic alliances and distribution partnerships with assigned firms
- Identify key industry trends and emerging customer requirements and drive this information deep into the business development and product development organization to help the company remain ahead of competition and relevant to customers
- Participate in meetings with key internal stakeholders to disseminate market feedback
- Work collaboratively with sales and account executives across the enterprise to share information and market intelligence
- Facilitate resolution of escalated client issues surfaced by the consultant channel
- Engage with internal functional areas such as product, operations, marketing, and various UnitedHealth Group business units to develop and maintain deep knowledge of Optum products and capabilities
- Partner with business development and marketing and to develop and deliver key messages to the broker and consultant community
- Represent Optum at industry events to raise awareness of Optum brand and value proposition
- Effectively represent Our United Culture to demonstrate Optum’s values to the broker and consultant communities

Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years in the employer health and benefits industry with knowledge of the chronic condition and wellness landscape
- 7+ years working with senior leaders, demonstrating increasing responsibility for business development, client relationship management and/or leading consulting engagements
- Experience developing complex health and productivity solutions for employers
- Proven effective people skills with direct experience in successfully forging and managing strategic relationships
- Proven high level oral and written communication skills and the credibility needed to gain the respect and confidence of key brokers and consultants
- Proven ability to operate and effectively navigate in a highly complex, fast-paced, and continuously evolving matrix environment
- Proven solid project management skills
- Ability to master the technical aspects of product solutions and be able to discuss with consultants
- Ability to travel up to 25%

The salary range for this role is $150,200 to $288,500 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
