Optum Financial is a high-growth area within Optum and one of UnitedHealth Group’s five growth pillars. In support of this growth, Optum Financial is expanding its Strategy & Business Development team. This position will support the current VP in developing and driving inorganic growth across Optum Financial. This includes corporate strategy, evaluation and due diligence of M&A targets and partnership development. The ideal candidate will have experience in business development, consulting, or investment banking with solid knowledge of fintech and / or healthcare industries.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Leads strategy engagements across Optum Financial, including the development of industry landscapes, long-term strategy, GTM strategy, and inorganic growth strategy
- Can structure research plans for testing of assumptions and hypotheses and conduct work needed to support strategic evaluation and decision-making from financial analysis and market assessments to competitive benchmarking
- Transitions strategic engagements and plans to the identification of fit-for-purpose partnership and M&A opportunities
- Drive due diligence process for potential M&A through development of synergy assumptions, supporting synergy modeling, and providing core PMO to coordinate the deal team stakeholders and ensure deadlines are met
- Manage senior stakeholder expectations in a fast-moving matrixed organization

Required Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience in business development, consulting, corporate development, or investment banking
- 4+ years of experience working with senior level leaders
- 4+ years of experience doing advanced Excel modeling and Powerpoint deck development
- Advanced skills in Excel and large data sets include: frequent use of pivot tables, advanced formulas, and financial modeling (DCF-discounted cash flow, NPV, P&L/income statement, ROI/cost benefit analysis
- 4+ years of experience/expertise in fintech and/or healthcare

- Proven ability to work across multiple teams and supporting functions
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

The salary range for this role is $106,800 to $194,200 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
