Are you a skilled actuarial professional looking to make a significant impact in the healthcare industry? OptumRx is seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in data analysis, risk assessment, and financial modeling to support our mission of improving health outcomes and reducing costs for our clients. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions and provide actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist in updating underlying assumptions utilized in underwriting models
  • Complete ad hoc actuarial analysis in a timely manner
  • Retrieve, process, and analyze data from the pharmacy claims database to generate initial insights and summaries
  • Provide validation studies on model updates and enhancements

Required Qualifications:

  • On the Actuarial exam track, having passed 2 or more Actuarial exams
  • 2+ years of experience working in a corporate environment including experience collecting, analyzing and summarizing qualitative/quantitative data
  • 1+ years of experience in SQL, SAS and/or VBA
  • Expertise working with formulas, calculations, charts, graphs in MS Excel

Preferred Qualification:

  • Experience working in finance or the health care industry

The salary range for this role is $71,600 to $140,600 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
