The CFO of the Optum Insight Provider Market leads finance for the business and is responsible for full P&L performance. The $4 billion Provider Market is comprised of Revenue Cycle Management Servies and Software, Clinical Decision Support, Optum Advisory, Life Sciences and Imaging. The business competes in a growing industry segment that is benefiting from the adoption of new technologies. The Provider Market finance leader plays a critical role in leading the business through a period of transformation and growth as a member of the Provider Market Leadership Team and trusted advisor to the CEO.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Drive quality, sustainable earnings growth for the Provider Market.
  • Partner with business leaders to establish strategy, priorities and align incentives for the business.
  • Support strategic decision making and prioritization through an in-depth understanding of competitors, industry trends, benchmarks and key performance indicators.
  • Establish financial targets and key performance measures for the business, and lead the team through strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Evaluate and communicate risks and opportunities for business, and ensure plans are delivered to achieve financial commitments.
  • Partner closely with the Market Presidents to execute product strategies and maximize growth opportunities through sales execution.
  • Build relationships with end-of-the-end revenue cycle management client CFOs and ensure Optum delivers on its obligations with proactive communication and transparency.
  • Support product portfolio management, product strategy and drive capital allocation decisions.
  • Proactively evaluate product, operations and client trends: identify opportunities, initiate actions and ensure accountability for results.
  • Partner closely with operations to maintain quality and deliver productivity.
  • Drive enterprise transformation initiatives include M&A evaluation / integration, digital finance modernization, and scalable operating model design to support growth and innovation.
  • Provide exceptional team leadership with a focus on employee engagement, development, retention, and attracting top talent into the organization.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
  • Health care industry experience.
  • 15 or more years of financial management experience.
  • 10 or more years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Experience leading finance function for large business units.
  • Solid business and financial acumen. Ability to anticipate planning, forecasting, and operational issues; determine the impact, and develop and implement an appropriate action plan.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently at multiple levels of large, complex organizations. Must be able to lead, manage and inspire people at all levels within the organization.
  • Excellent organizational, management, administrative and human relations skills, and a style which exhibits emotional maturity, leadership, collaboration and teamwork.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex business problems and solid analytical skills with ability to drive transformational change.
  • Track record of driving finance transformation initiatives, including automation, advanced analytics, and digital tools to enhance forecasting and decision-making.
  • Demonstrated success in supporting M&A transactions, including due diligence, integration planning, and synergy realization, as well as capital allocation strategy.
  • Solid history of quickly building relationships, gaining credibility, partnering with and influencing business leaders. Must excel at building teams and collaborating in a matrixed environment.
  • 10%+ travel

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you’ll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $225,000 – $375,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
