As the Director of Data Analytics, you will lead our highly skilled team of data analysts to deliver advanced analytics solutions supporting the Rx Industry Relations Commercial Strategy business. The role will require strong collaboration with a wide range of business stakeholders and matrix partners to deliver on identified strategic priorities. Your strategic vision will guide the development of analytics solutions directly supporting Rebate and Formulary commercial strategy, benefiting both OptumRx and clients.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Business and customer engagement lead for Business Intelligence solutions within Payment Integrity business
  • Direct and implement Business Intelligence and Reporting solutions, to support decision-making for Payment Integrity Operations, including Commercial and UHC clients
  • Accountable for delivery of reporting workstream for Payment Integrity blue-chips and projects, to support enterprise programs
  • Manage the creation and deployment of leading data products and advanced analytics solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and senior leaders within the organization
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the business, understanding their challenges and proactively identifying and translating them into data-driven strategies
  • Clearly communicate analytical results and strategic insights to non-technical senior business stakeholders
  • Manage resource allocation and project prioritization, ensuring alignment with business goals
  • Promote knowledge sharing and mentoring within analytics teams. Offer technical leadership to assist with data analytics problems, including coding and reviews
  • Lead the team in rapid prototyping, testing, and iterating on new insights to support dynamic business needs
  • Challenge the status quo and foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team
  • Drive the adoption of advanced analytical and AI/ML methodologies to solve complex business problems – leveraging internal capabilities within Data and Analytics teams

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in data analytics roles, preferably in healthcare and/or in Payment Integrity business
  • 5+ years of leading small to medium sized data and analytics teams and projects
  • 5+ years of experience in effectively managing cross-functional projects and teams
  • Proficiency with cloud technologies, MS Azure, Snowflake, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and GitHub
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and influence technical concepts and insights to stakeholders at all levels across the organization

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in deploying BI solutions in a healthcare setting that has delivered measurable business impact
  • Experience in consulting or strategic advisory role in analytics
  • Proven solid organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $132,200 to $226,600 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
