The Senior CMDB Analyst plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB). This senior position involves strategic and operational responsibilities, working closely with various IT teams to define, maintain, and enhance policies and best practices around configuration management. The role demands a high level of technical expertise and interaction with infrastructure and application teams to effectively manage the configuration items (CIs) and their relationships within the organization.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead the management and operations of the CMDB databases, including but not limited to Oracle DBMS, PostgreSQL Infrared Database, and ServiceNow CMDB
- Spearhead the review and enhancement of auditing processes within the CMDB to ensure optimal performance and accuracy.
Champion the continuous improvement of the CMDB to provide reliable, up-to-date information that supports IT and business objectives - Direct and improve activities associated with enhancing Data Quality in the CMDB
- Ensure that Configuration Management processes are in alignment with organizational goals and comply with company standards
- Act as a primary interface with internal customers, handling inquiries, resolving issues, and providing training related to CMDB processes
- Lead strategic projects related to the development and integration of new technologies and systems within the CMDB framework
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in analysis, design, and database development, including expertise in managing database objects such as Tables, Views, Functions, and Triggers
- Demonstrated experience in writing custom code for integration and ETL processes within a CMDB federation architecture
- Experience in developing, integrating, and deploying solutions in large, distributed database environments (Oracle, MS/SQL)
- In-depth knowledge of hardware and technical software operations in medium to large-scale organizations
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and PL-SQL; experience with scripting and automating database tasks
- Proven expert-level skills in data mining and analytical techniques
- Proven exceptional customer service skills and the ability to influence stakeholders and drive successful outcomes
- Proven ability to work with modern, open-source technologies and develop innovative solutions to complex problems
