Primary Responsibilities of the Associate Director of Portfolio Management:

  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of the Data Science and AI portfolio, from ideation through delivery and retirement.

  • Partner with data science, engineering, product, and business teams to define and prioritize initiatives.

  • Develop and maintain strategic roadmaps that align with business goals and technical capabilities.

  • Lead governance processes including intake, prioritization, resource planning, and performance tracking.

  • Monitor execution progress, proactively manage risks, and drive resolution of issues.

  • Communicate portfolio status, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership with clarity, precision, and strategic framing.

  • Support business case development and ROI analysis for new initiatives.

  • Champion agile ways of working and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

You will be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role, as well as providing development for other roles you may be interested in.

Required Qualifications of the Associate Director of Portfolio Management:

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience

  • Demonstrated experience in product, program, or portfolio management, ideally in data driven domains

  • Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional initiatives with multiple stakeholders

  • Strong understanding of data science and AI workflows, technologies, and lifecycle

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with senior executives and translate technical work into business impact

  • Experience with agile methodologies and tools

Preferred Qualifications of the Associate Director of Portfolio Management:

  • Background in technical product management, software or data science

  • Experience in healthcare, insurance, or regulated industries

  • Familiarity with data governance, privacy, and compliance (e.g., PHI/PII)

Soft skills of the Associate Director of Portfolio Management:

  • Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and stakeholder engagement skills.

We believe everyone-of every race, gender, sexuality, age, location and income-deserves the opportunity to live their healthiest life.
