About the Role:
We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst to help drive a growing Data Analyst team to support our analytic products. You will work with other Data analysts and subject matter experts to support Data Analytics for pharmacy products. This role will support the development of an exciting new product which will form part of the Optum Insight product suite. The position will work in partnership with local analytic leadership in Ireland as part of the broader Optum Ireland ecosystem, while building strong relationships with US-based product & Account team.
As a Senior Data Analyst, this individual will be part of a healthcare product team; focused on developing and implementing methods to improve data generation, usage and reliability. This individual will be a key team member, focused on developing foundational data-pipelines for downstream analytics.
Primary Responsibilities of a Senior Data Analyst:

Research, interpret, and analyze diverse and complex data

Implement analytic activities to support decision-making across multiple lines of business
-
Design and deliver complex reports and analysis through self-service reporting tool – Power BI/Looker.

Proficient in writing complex SQL queries, optimizing performance, and managing data pipelines using Snowflake for scalable cloud-based analytics
-
Implement process improvement initiatives and automation for efficiency where appropriate
-
Be responsible for the delivery of results and the support of business strategies derived from data insights

Participate in all phases of a project life cycle including database design, process flow, benchmark and trend analysis, and modelling

Produce analytical outputs, executive summaries and descriptive analytics reports for Senior Leadership

Collaborate with different lines of business and business functions, to understand their analytic needs, act as consultant to propose business solutions, and communicate results of analytics

Utilizing SQL to create net new solutions, modify existing content and distribute the data to users and other systems.

Provide recommendations to the development team regarding query optimization

Required Qualifications of a Senior Data Analyst:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
-
Extensive experience in Data Analysis and/or Data Engineering
-
Experience in Data Warehousing, Data Modelling & Reporting and working on cloud.

Data manipulation and data transformation skills and proficiency in at least SQL or Python
-
Proficient in research, interpreting, and analyzing diverse and complex data, and assessing Data Quality
-
Experience in deploying large scale analytical solutions or working in a large multinational company
-
Experience in data ETL and blending tools
-
Proficiency with excel & visualization tools
-
Experience with PowerApps and/or Power platform
Preferred Qualifications of a Senior Data Analyst:
-
Experience building data pipelines on either AWS, Azure or GCP, following best practices in Cloud deployments

Understanding of system hardening, and threat and vulnerability management
-
Data migration projects / Dev-ops / Data-Dev-Ops
-
Query Optimization
-
Proven track record in delivering technology driven solutions through full project life cycle.

Ability to analyze and interpret large datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and opportunities.

Experience designing interactive dashboards and visual reports using tools like Power BI, Looker to communicate insights effectively.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business questions into data-driven solutions.

Experience presenting findings in a way that influences stakeholders and supports decision-making.
