About the role:

The “Competitive Intelligence and Pricing Strategy” team is an established strategic function within the pricing department in Optum Rx’s Dublin office. It is dedicated to identifying, curating and leveraging pricing and market data to drive analysis and extracting actionable insights. It works with business partners to turn these data driven insights into actionable pricing strategies.

The team develops internal processes for the collection and analysis of market competitiveness data, enabling informed pricing strategy development aimed at meeting specific economic targets and plans. The team build solutions with a forward looking, market anticipatory, and continuous evolutionary mindset.

This dovetails into how terms and financial guarantees are defined and how these are carried forward into contract negotiations. Equally, how these strategies are taken forward into implementation, how operational parameters are defined to determine client profitability, and how live and emerging issues are fed back into pricing requires dedicated oversight.

This focus and dedication contribute to refining Optum’s competitive pricing strategies in the ever more competitive marketplace and will facilitate a move toward putting market competitiveness as the central facet of our business activities. This will entail a change in our business philosophy and operating model to put the market at the center of our economic plan development.

Primary Responsibilities for Senior Business Analysis Consultant:

• Product Owner responsibility for P&L DB (Proposals Data Repository)
• Proactively engage with stakeholders to understand strategic requirements to inform your solutions/ delivery
• Develop strong working relationships with key partners across the business
• Recommend innovative ideas and/or procedures to improve existing strategies
• Constructively challenge current thinking, support change to deliver superior pricing strategies
• Independently perform a broad range of quantitative analysis to shape deliverables end to end
• Present to audiences of varying organizational roles and hierarchy levels
• Engage with and influence stakeholders to ensure solutions/ recommendations are integrated into the business and drive value
• Work effectively and cooperatively as a member of a project team

Required Qualifications for Senior Business Analysis Consultant:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or related field or equivalent experience
• Project Management experience
• Extensive experience as a Business, Finance or Data Analyst
• Experience with relational databases: SQL

• Proficiency with MS Excel

  Preferred Qualifications for Senior Business Analysis Consultant:

• Master’s Degree in related areas; MBA (or equivalent work experience)
• Product Ownership experience using agile framework
• Experience with Databricks

• Experience with Power BI or similar tools

• Advanced proficiency with VBA
• Ability to think big, understand business strategy, provide self-directed consultative business analysis, and leverage technical skills to create insightful recommendations
• Proven financial modeling and analysis experience
• Strategic planning capabilities, ability to understand industry trends and competitor strategies

Soft Skills:

• Excellent communication skills (verbal, written) and presentation skills
• Highly organized and motivated, change/innovation agent and self-starter
• Strong communicator with ability to work cross-functionally
