Job Summary
Responsibilities
Assist the Associate Director in all facets (i.e. planning, compliance, execution and analysis) of Project Management (i.e. reconfigurations, remodel, and new building projects).
Assist the Dining Operations team by managing the department’s sub-access to the Asset Management System (Currently Maximo) and CBord.
Assist the Dining Operations team with the process of communicating, monitoring and discerning needs for escalation of submitted Service Requests, Work Orders, maintenance and inventory.
Manage the oversight and coordination of the budget and allocation of funds for the Recognized Student Organization (RSO) by maintaining the weekly, quarterly and yearly reconciliation of the Recognized Student Catering Fund Budget.
Manage all administrative duties associated with the Recognized Student Catering Fund Budget. (i.e. website, correspondence, menu changes and or updates & etc.).
Provide designated quarterly and annual departmental progress reports to Directors.
Utilize contract between UChicago Dining and vendor representative to assist in the monitoring of contract compliance (3rd party vendors and etc.) and assist in providing culinary oversight. Ensure vendors have appropriate equipment, inventory, and resources, ensures operating standards are met per contract.
Assist the department with providing safety, sanitation, and quality assurance oversight of additional locations (Booth School, Lab Schools, and Student Run Cafes) or any designated location by the Department of Environmental Health & Safety or any directive by senior University administration.
Manage and organize the Master Operations Team Shift Coverage Monthly Calendar. Ensure all shifts are adequately covered by coordinating with team members and addressing scheduling conflicts.
Coordinate schedule with Dining Operations Associate(s) to provide oversite and assistance to the dining locations, primarily on nights and weekends.
Assist with the vendor’s Externship Programs for Culinary, Pastry, Baking, and Hospitality.
Visit all dining locations at least once a week to assess, monitor, and ensure the maintenance of industry compliance standards and provide observations in a weekly report.
Keep abreast of new concepts, practices, and trends in food service technology as they relate to institutions of higher education. Attend functions and events internally and externally to network on and off campus for future departmental development.
Supervises support staff who assist with knowledge management, document management, performance management, and quality management.
Supervises employees that track operational, transactional, performance, and compliance reporting to provide reports to leadership.
Performs other related work as needed.
Minimum Qualifications

Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience:
Five to seven years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, catering services, institutional services.
Food service management experience in a contract-services, healthcare, campus dining, or high-volume hospitality environment.
A culinary background.
Certifications:
ServSafe® certified (Current).
City of Chicago Certified Foodservice Manager.

Intermediate knowledge of Project Management.
Working Conditions
Flexibility in scheduling: shift could be weekdays, nights, and weekends.
Eating at the various dining venues of UChicago Dining is a requirement of this position.
Ability to bend, crouch, or sit.
Ability to stand, sit, or walk for 4 hours or more.
This position requires quite a bit of walking to assess the dining operations at venues across campus.
