Job Summary
Additionally, the Recruitment and Engagement Specialist partners with the Director of Recruitment to improve the prospective student experience. These efforts include collaborating with and supporting the division’s integrated recruitment strategy, requiring a strong ability to work well both independently and in teams to positively represent the Division of the Arts and Humanities. This position reports to the Director of Recruitment within the Dean of Students Office.

Responsibilities
- Develops a strong understanding of the division’s and core administrative areas’ mission, values, and goals to communicate with and engage students.
- Assists in the planning and execution of recruitment outreach to prospective students.
- Supports recruitment programming, including hosting information sessions and meeting with prospective students to discuss the student experience.
- Maintains central events calendar of campus activities pertinent to current and prospective students.
- Represents the Division and the University at recruitment trips and graduate fairs.
- Enhances the division’s social media and web presence, highlighting student experiences to support recruitment efforts. Collaborates with the division and central social media teams to maximize content exposure and engagement.
- Analyzes metrics for social media, website, and email newsletter campaigns to measure success and determine strategic campaign adjustments.
- Manages photography and videography (shooting, editing, and design) required for digital content creation to enhance the prospective student experience.
- Supervises student ambassadors in developing content for divisional social media platforms and web pages.
- Collaborates with the Director of Recruitment to develop strategic, mission-aligned student communication and marketing strategies that span the student life cycle.
- Collaborates with Director of Enrollment Strategy and Recruitment, student ambassadors, and Divisional Communications, to develop monthly newsletters and blog posts.
- Liaise with University Communications and serve on the Social Media working group.
- Conducts interviews with students, alumni, faculty, and administrators to support marketing initiatives.
- Develops integrated messaging and storytelling for student recruitment initiatives.
- Participates in the design and selection of promotional materials and items.
- Participates in special projects such as developing marketing materials, monitoring budgets, and executing tailored recruitment programs.
- Recruits and/or evaluates applicants for admission by interviewing, reading applications and summarizing evaluations. Completes these routine tasks with guidance and instruction from others.
- Travels and recruits in an assigned geography, assisting with planning and delivering public presentations, special events, and other recruitment activities.
- Maintains relationships with all individuals involved in the recruitment process, including routinely counseling students and parents regarding the admission process.
- Participates in special projects such as developing marketing materials, monitoring budgets and recruiting underrepresented groups.
- Performs other related work as needed.
Minimum Qualifications

Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.

Preferred Qualifications
Education:
- Advanced degree in marketing, communications, higher education, humanities, or related field.
Experience:
- 1-2 years of relevant work experience in admissions and recruitment in a higher education setting.
- Establishing contacts and cultivating new media relationships.
- Writing and editing for media, digital content, stakeholder input, and content calendars.
- Working with content creators to adapt stories.
Technical Skills or Knowledge:
- Proficient and functional knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficient in the following software: Canva, Constant Contact, Buffer, Google Suite, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Proficient with SLATE CRM technology.
- Proficient in creative direction and design principles to provide direction for recruitment purposes.
