The Annual Giving and Stewardship Officer for Penny W. Stamps School of Art & Design at the University of Michigan (U-M) utilizes exceptional writing skills to tell the story about Stamps through inspiring solicitations and impactful stewardship. Reporting to the Director of Development, you will grow in an environment where you will build relationships and strengthen donations for the school.

Responsibilities*

  • Develop Annual Giving Strategies: Analyze donor data to create multi-channel annual giving campaigns (email, direct mail, social media, phone) aligned with school priorities and donor interests.
  • Create Donor Communications and Stewardship Materials: Write and design appeals, acknowledgments, impact reports, and creative stewardship content to engage and thank donors in a meaningful way.
  • Coordinate Donor Stewardship and Recognition Efforts: Manage stewardship for multiple donor levels, maintain donor records in DART, and oversee special outreach projects including birthday greetings, condolence cards, and personalized mementos.
  • Support Advancement Events and Donor Engagement: Collaborate on alumni and donor events, assist with donor recognition strategies, and contribute to the planning of student-focused philanthropy activities like Giving Blueday and "Hail Yeah!"
  • Ensure Brand Alignment and Marketing Coordination: Work with the communications team to align messaging across platforms, support design and marketing needs for development programs, and manage mail/email campaigns for Advancement and school-wide programs.

Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelor's degree, or combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years or more years experience in development-related work
  • Experienced writing skills
  • Experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools such as Donor Alumni Relations Tool (DART), Raiser's Edge, Ellucian Advance
