The School of Public Health (SPH) is looking for an enthusiastic team player to work as part of a high-functioning team in the school's Office of Student Affairs (OSA), focusing on supporting admissions work. Specifically, we are looking for someone to help support the responsibilities of the application processing team, events, and projects.

You will report to the Associate Director of Admissions and Recruitment. At OSA our mission is to focus on supporting students throughout their journey.

Responsibilities*

Admissions Processing

  • Use university admissions systems, including SOPHAS, Salesforce, CollegeNet, and M-Pathways, to process applications and transition admitted applicants into matriculants.
  • Contribute to the annual SOPHAS application set-up, testing, and data mapping.
  • Contact for Kira, Salesforce, and Collegenet.
  • Facilitate yearly application updates for the CollegeNet undergraduate applications.
  • Provide data updates, using admissions-related resources to monitor admission and enrollment patterns and trends. Create and run admissions data reports using Business Objects. Provide data for reviewing admissions decisions and entering admissions decisions in MPathways.
  • Summarize data from surveys, recruitment, and admissions-related events and projects.
  • Maintain application processing flow and data (lead for online MPH and undergraduate programs), including suspense files. Be a backup for residential MPH/MHSA admissions processing.
  • Work with the team and U-M ITS to initiate annual updates and create new CommGen communications.
  • Throughout the cycle, collaborate with schoolwide partners to distribute various communications to prospects, admits, matriculants, etc.
  • Be a resource to departments and programs for WebAdmit application review setup and general inquiries.
  • Coordinate and review applicants' residency and conduct based on the data provided by applicants weekly.
  • Attend and brief the team on projects and topics presented at university-wide meetings
  • Verify application completeness, international admit follow-ups, generate prospective and admitted student mailings and email outreach lists, I-20 processing, conduct reports, and residency reviews.

Recruitment Support and Prospective Student Support

  • Respond promptly to parent, prospective, and admitted student inquiries through different communication channels, including being the primary manager of the SPH inquiries email box and Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • Advise prospective and admitted students throughout the admissions process.
  • To collect prospective student data, use university admissions systems
  • Work with OSA and several partners to produce outreach lists.
  • Identify improvements and FAQs to standard email responses
  • Maintain and expand the use of existing Salesforce functionality for automated recruitment efforts

Events Coordination

  • Team up with the Graduate Recruitment Lead and the Associate Director of Recruitment and Admissions to implement a virtual and in-person programming menu throughout the cycle.
  • Co-lead the planning and execution of large-scale in-person recruitment and admissions events, such as Prospective Graduate Student Day and Admitted Graduate Student Experience.
  • Manage recruitment events in Salesforce and on the SPH website.

Required Qualifications*

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in admissions, student services role, or related experience
  • Proficiency with office productivity applications (such as Microsoft Office or Google Suite) and CRM systems such as Salesforce.
  • Customer service experience

This position may be underfilled at a lower classification, depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate. The salary range for the lower classification is $44,665-$52,704.

Intermediate-Level Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in admissions, student services role, or related experience
  • Proficiency with office productivity applications (such as Microsoft Office or Google Suite) and CRM systems such as Salesforce.
  • Customer service experience

Modes of Work

This job is hybrid. Following the first six-month probationary period, you will be hybrid-eligible with on-site expectations in Ann Arbor, MI. Hybrid is defined as three days in the office, two remote. Rarely, you may be asked to work outside of normal work hours, including nights or weekends.
