Job Summary
The University of Michigan School of Information (UMSI) is looking for an experienced Director of Recruitment and Admissions. Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, you will advocate for best practices in all aspects of recruitment, admissions, and financial aid and will lead a dynamic team responsible for implementing strategies across UMSI's degree programs, including undergraduate, graduate, and online offerings. The Recruitment, Admissions, and Financial Aid team is a part of the Office of Academic and Student Affairs (OASA). OASA teams are responsible for many aspects of the lifecycle of the student including recruitment, admissions, and financial aid; registration and student services; and academic programs and student life.

Responsibilities*
- Develop and implement comprehensive recruitment, admissions, and financial aid strategies aligned with UMSI's academic goals and priorities.
- Lead a professional team of recruitment, admissions, and financial aid staff.
- Oversee the admissions lifecycle, including prospect engagement, application review, selection, and enrollment while ensuring stewardship in relevant areas, compliance with University policies, and meeting enrollment and revenue goals.
- Partner with faculty program chairs, marketing/communications teams, student services, and university-wide enrollment management offices.
Required Qualifications*
- Master's degree in Higher Education, Public Administration, Business, or a related field, with relevant experience in full-cycle college admissions.
- At least 8 years of progressively responsible experience in recruitment, admissions, enrollment management, in higher education or related field.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including team management, planning and managing projects involving multiple groups.
- Experience with best practices in student recruitment, CRM systems (e.g., Slate), data analytics and admissions practices.
Modes of Work
Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.
This is a hybrid or in-person position depending on your preference. You may travel to multiple locations on and off campus, and may be asked to be in-person during certain times of year. The main office workspace for this position is located in the Leinweber Computer Science and Information Building on North Campus. Punctual and regular attendance is required. You may work during non-business hours and on weekends based on the requirements for your position.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
You will lead the Recruitment, Admissions, and Financial Aid team that is composed of 3 Associate/Assistant Directors, several full-time employees, and multiple temporary staff.
Salary Information:
The salary range for this position is $115,000 to $125,000. Salary is determined by direct relevant experience and demonstrated past performance results while ensuring equity on our team. All candidates are encouraged to discuss salary questions to honor alignment and transparency throughout the recruiting process.
Background Screening
