Job Summary

The department of Neurology is seeking a highly skilled Statistician Senior to join our research program. Statistician Senior provides expert statistical consultation, manages complex data analyses, mentors junior faculty and fellows in the design, analysis, and interpretation and dissemination of research studies.

Responsibilities*

  • Consult with researchers and faculty to identify appropriate study designs and statistical methodologies for clinical, translational, and health services research.
  • Lead the design and implementation of statistical analysis plans for complex projects, including large-scale or multi-site clinical trials and observational studies.
  • Manage, analyze, and interpret large and complex health datasets (EHR, survey or claims data).
  • Ensure appropriate data management practices, including data cleaning, variable derivation, and quality assurance.
  • Develop, implement, and validate statistical models (e.g., regression, survival analysis, machine learning, longitudinal data analysis).
  • Support and advise junior faculty and fellows who conduct research; provide expertise and guidance on best practices.
  • Authorship and review of statistical sections for grant proposals, manuscripts, and presentations.
  • Collaborate with biostatistics core, informatics teams, and external partners to advance research and quality initiatives.
  • Stay current with developments in statistical methods and software, and promote the adoption of innovative analytic approaches.
  • Present results and findings to investigators, sponsors, and at scientific meetings

Required Qualifications*

  • Master's degree or higher in Statistics, Biostatistics, or Data Science.
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in applied medical or health research statistics, including leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Proficiency in statistical programming and data management using at least one major statistical software package (SAS, R, Stata, or Python).
  • Extensive experience in applied statistical consulting in healthcare, medical, or academic research environments.
  • Demonstrated leadership, project management, and mentoring abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively on interdisciplinary teams.

Background Screening
