Responsibilities*
This position provides oversight of all patient care nursing services and personnel, including services provided to MM patients through a contractual agreement with HomeMed Pharmacy. Responsibilities include oversight of Registered Nurses as determined by the Clinical Nursing Director; facilitating the delivery of effective, cost-efficient, high quality, professional services; implementing department policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory, accreditation and practice standards; and clinical management of all nursing services in collaboration with the nursing Director of UMH Infusion.
HomeMed management team members to standardize a consistent approach for all employees, while respecting and observing the principles inherent to the UMPNC collective bargaining agreements.
- Provides direct supervisor and evaluation of registered nurses.
- Understands and implements bargaining agreements for UMPNC, AFSCME employees, and manages other staff through the Standard Practice Guide, as well as UMH Nursing and Pharmacy applicable policies and procedures.
- Assures practice compliance aligns with regulations including Michigan & Federal Law, Standards of Nursing Practice, and regulatory bodies providing accreditation and certification.
- Ensures competency and compliance within service, education, and regulations.
- Provides oversight of all patient care nursing services and personnel, including making patient and personnel assignments, coordinating patient care, and coordinating home visit referrals.
- Knowledgeable about patient caseloads and practice issues of nursing staff. Assures effective ongoing delivery of nursing services to meet patient care needs.
- Manages team performance based on established metrics and using data in decision-making.
- Holds staff accountable to work and productivity expectations.
- Provides weekend, holiday, and evening supervisory coverage as assigned.
- Assists in developing, implementing, and participating in staff education programs, policies, guidelines, orientation, and in-services.
- Chair of the HomeMed Pharmacy Education Committee; leads and/or contributes to the HomeMed education plan for both patients and staff.
- Liaison to the clinical on call program management and response and complying with policy, payer, and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications*
Required Educational Requirements:
Applicant must meet one of the following: Bachelor's degree in Nursing OR Associates degree or Diploma in Nursing and a Master's degree in Nursing
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Michigan
- Minimum five (5) years of Registered Nurse experience.
- Minimum two (2) years (within the last 5 years) RN experience in an infusion or procedural setting.
- Nurse Leadership certification or completion within two (2) years of accepting this position or when eligible to certify, whichever comes first. Certification is expected to be maintained while in this leadership role. Examples include Certified Nurse Manager and Leader (CNML) or, Nurse Executive (NE-BC). Certifications must be recognized by the Magnet Recognition Program and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC.)

Desired Qualifications*
- Previous experience as a health care supervisor, preferably in infusion nursing practice.
- Experience with EPIC Home Health software
- Master's degree in Nursing
- Recent adult medical/surgical clinical experience
- Demonstrated professional oral and written communication skills
- Computer proficiency
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Proven ability to facilitate change

Work Schedule
Appointment: 40 Hours; may work weekends, holidays, evenings and on-call as assigned.
Location: HomeMed 2850 South Industrial Highway, Suite 50, Ann Arbor MI 48104; personnel reporting to this role are also located on the main hospital Ann Arbor campus.
Background Screening
