The University of Virginia (UVA) is a highly competitive Division I program committed to the academic and athletic experience of student-athletes. The Department of Athletics is seeking to fill the position of Director of Operations, Women's Lacrosse.

The Operations Assistant position exists to provide a high level of operational and logistical support to the Intercollegiate Athletic sport of Women's Lacrosse and to assist in achieving a nationally recognized program, both on and off the field, in a manner that meets all guidelines set by the University of Virginia, the ACC, and the NCAA.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing exemplary customer service to internal and external constituencies.
  • Performing operational functions and tasks for the Head Women's Lacrosse Coach and coaching staff, as requested.
  • Supporting operational and game day needs.
  • Performing other duties as assigned that support, or add value to, the goals and objectives of the unit.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to be flexible in terms of work schedule to accommodate the game day and events schedule.
  • Ability to prepare basic reports, provide information and perform operational functions.
  • Ability to communicate accurately and in an effective manner - spoken and written.
  • Ability to develop good working relationships with all internal and external constituencies.
  • Working knowledge of NCAA and ACC rules and regulations for Lacrosse preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: High school diploma
Experience: Some working knowledge of the sport program to be supported

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
