The University of Virginia is a highly competitive Division I program committed to academic and athletic excellence. We are seeking a Director of Operations & Technical Coordinator to play a vital role in the success of the UVA Wrestling and Volleyball programs, ensuring smooth day-to-day logistics, enhancing competitive readiness, and driving organizational excellence.

This position combines high-level operational oversight in both sports and technical coordinator in the sport of volleyball, including statistical analysis and film operations, to support coaching staffs in optimizing athlete performance.

Primary Responsibilities:

Operations & Administration:

  • Manage all aspects of Teamworks, ARMS, and Workday systems for both programs.
  • Oversee logistics for all team competitions (home and away): Travel arrangements, itineraries, weight room scheduling, practice times, contracts, pass lists, parking, and meals.
  • Liaison to Housing, Equipment, Facilities, Operations, Compliance, and Nutrition units across Grounds.
  • Manage team budgets, generate financial reports, and monitor spending trends.
  • Ensure the creation and submission of all operational paperwork (reimbursements, travel authorizations, work orders, facility reservations).
  • Coordinate and execute team events such as banquets and team-building activities.
  • Assist with recruit visit logistics, travel coordination for coaches, compliance paperwork, and recruit reimbursements.
  • Assist with Cavalier Wrestling Club operations and engagement Community and Alumni Engagement
  • Design and implement community service and personal growth initiatives.
  • Lead the creation and distribution of alumni newsletters.

Technical Coordination & Analytics for Volleyball Only:

  • Film and record practice and competition sessions, ensuring comprehensive statistical tracking.
  • Package and distribute video clips and performance data to coaches and athletes for training purposes.
  • Deliver real-time statistics and performance feedback during live competition.
  • Collaborate with coaches to analyze trends and performance metrics for strategic planning.
  • Coordinate scouting and film breakdown of upcoming opponents.

Camp Oversight:

  • Serve as Director of Camps for both Wrestling and Volleyball, overseeing all logistics, marketing, registration, and staff coordination.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Collegiate or professional volleyball experience as a player or coach required.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate across departments and engage with athletes, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational abilities, with proven capacity to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
  • Proficient in statistical software and video analysis tools.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, leadership in team environments, and a proactive mindset.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent (4+ years') related experience
Experience; Some working knowledge of the sport program to be supported
Licensure: None

Physical Demands:

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.

Application Details:

The salary for this position is $54,000-59,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications. This is an in person, full-time, benefits and overtime eligible position. Employees’ benefits package highlights include:
