The anticipated start date for this role is August 5, 2025.

The Talent Acquisition Manager plays a key leadership role in advancing UVA Health’s mission by overseeing both operational and strategic recruitment efforts across a range of departments. Reporting to the Health System Director of Talent Acquisition, this role manages a high-performing team of recruiters and serves as a trusted partner to Health System leaders across the University. The Manager plays a key role in building a workforce that advances world-class patient care, research, and education by driving data-informed hiring strategies, ensuring compliance with University and regulatory policies, and promoting UVA as an employer of choice through innovative sourcing and branding efforts.

This position is based in Charlottesville, VA, and is eligible for a hybrid schedule, with periodic on-Grounds presence required to build relationships and support client needs, in accordance with UVA’s remote work guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Health System Nursing recruitment team in aligning daily operations with organizational priorities
  • Coach and develop recruitment team members while providing regular performance feedback
  • Partner with senior leaders to forecast staffing needs and align recruitment strategies with workforce goals
  • Leverage data and metrics to evaluate recruitment effectiveness and optimize processes
  • Develop innovative sourcing strategies to attract a diverse, high-quality talent pool
  • Manage recruitment for critical and executive-level positions while maintaining an active portfolio
  • Cultivate external partnerships and networks to strengthen UVA's healthcare talent pipeline

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience in Talent Acquisition or Human Resources
  • Experience managing or leading recruitment teams or initiatives

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing or leading recruitment teams or strategic initiatives
  • Experience in healthcare, higher education, or other complex organizations
  • Familiarity with recruitment technology platforms (e.g., Workday, Phenom, LinkedIn, SkillSurvey)
  • Expertise in full-cycle recruiting, sourcing strategies, and employment branding
  • Demonstrated use of recruitment metrics to drive performance and inform strategy
  • HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP)

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to build trust across all levels of the organization.

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally requires traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.

The anticipated hiring range is $115,000 - $145,000, commensurate with education and experience. This is an exempt-level, benefited position. Learn more about UVA benefits.
