These roles are responsible for evaluating and enhancing existing protocols and processes within the university’s healthcare system. Process improvement specialists analyze workflow efficiency, identify areas for improvement, and implement changes to optimize operations, reduce waste, and improve the quality of care and services provided.
Individual contributors with responsibility in a professional discipline or specialty. Spends majority of time leading the design, implementation or delivery of processes, programs and policies using specialized knowledge and skills normally acquired through advanced education (typically University).
Foundation-level for learned profession; active learner from more experienced colleagues. Contributor on a project or work team. Work is closely supervised. Problems faced are not typically difficult or complex. Explains facts, policies, and practices related to Job Area.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School or equivalent required. Associate or Bachelor’s Degree preferred in education, health or IT related majors
Experience: 3 years relevant experience in a Help Desk/Information Systems setting or with Scheduling and/or Registration at UVA.
Licensure: Certified Healthcare Access Manager (CHAM) or Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) by the NAHAM required within 18 months of hire date.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping, reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive); Repetitive motion: computer keyboard. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50 - 100lbs. May be exposed to noise, radiation, radioactive materials, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
