Research Associate in Psychology
University of Virginia
The Department of Psychology at the University of Virginia invites applications for a postdoctoral research associate position to work in the DiNicola Lab.
The DiNicola lab uses a precision neuroscience approach (i.e., repeated scanning of individuals) to explore: (1) how human brains are organized into large-scale networks, (2) how those networks support cool cognitive functions (like memory, social inference, emotion & cognitive control), and (3) how networks might change over time. In addition to neuroimaging (MRI), we use other tools to learn about cognitive processes and factors that might impact network function and change (like ecological momentary assessment, behavioral tasks and questionnaires).
The postdoctoral researcher will be responsible for developing and analyzing studies characterizing within-individual patterns of change in brain network metrics and cognitive measures. The postdoctoral researcher will also be expected to develop their own research interests, write research papers and grants, and help mentor students in the lab.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must have received their PhD in psychology, neuroscience or a closely related field by the appointment start date. Experience with functional magnetic resonance imaging data collection and analysis, human subjects' data, and data acquisition during periods of hormonal change (e.g., adolescence, pregnancy) strongly preferred. The candidate must have strong leadership, organizational and project management skills.
