Ensures the safe and effective use of medications by providing optimal drug product selection dosage regimen design effective administration and drug therapy monitoring services in the Medical Center.

This position will primarily support the IV Room in the Inpatient Operations Pharmacy.
  • Enters physician orders into the appropriate computer system.
  • Processes physician’s orders.
  • Checks and reviews pharmacy assistant/technician’s preparation of orders.
  • Provides drug information to customers inside and outside of the Medical Center.
  • Practices pharmacy in accordance with regulations.
  • In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor’s in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. Degree required

Experience: No experience required

Licensure: Commonwealth of Virginia State Board of Pharmacy License required. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Job requires standing for prolonged periods. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull < 20lbs. May be exposed to chemicals.

The starting base rate for this role is $52.46 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
