Comprehensive Emergency Services:
UVA Health’s Pediatric Emergency Department is a 12-bed, including 1 resuscitation bay, for patients newborn to 21 years old. The Peds ED sees about 50-60 patients daily. We work in collaboration with the Adult ED for trauma admits less than 16 years old. Part of the #1 Children’s Hospital in Virginia. Lot of Learning opportunities!

Minimum Qualifications
- Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent
- Experience: No experience required
- Licensure/Certifications: Must be State Certified as one of the following: EMT-B EMT-C EMT-ST or EMT-P. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
Physical Demands
Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping/traveling and reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull > 100lbs. May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, humidity, cold, heat, radiation, outdoor climate, blood/body fluids, infectious disease, noise and dust.
Onboarding Requirements
Background checks and pre-employment health screenings will be conducted on all new hires prior to employment. All safety-sensitive positions with direct patient interaction also require a drug screen.
The starting base rate for this role is $16.00 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.Benefits
