Position Summary
The UVA Department of Anesthesiology seeks to hire a Medical Education Assistant to provide comprehensive administrative support for its medical education programs. This role will perform a wide range of administrative duties that including data entry, record-keeping, and serving as the primary point of contact for students and medical professional personnel. The position is responsible for developing, implementing and compiling assessments and evaluations of program effectiveness for medical students and graduate medical education trainees. Additional responsibilities include data analysis and reporting for educational quality improvement, accreditation, and scholarly activities.
Responsibilities
Maintain organized, detailed and accurate office files related to medical education programs including records, reports, and correspondence.
Perform work involving extensive daily computer use, including email, databases, and Microsoft Office software applications such as Word, Excel, Power Point, and Teams.
Service as a frontline point of contact by promptly answering telephone calls and emails from students, screen inquiries, and respond to routine requests or refer matters to the appropriate medical education personnel.
Schedule and coordinate meetings, educational events, and travel, monitor calendars and proactively bring pertinent items to the attention of medical education personnel.
Track expenditures using receipts and supporting documentation and prepare reimbursement requests in accordance with departmental procedures.
Process, prepare, and edit and format reports and documents as needed.
Assist with coordination of the interview and selection process, credentialing processes, and graduation verification for medical education programs.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental operations and program needs.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent
Physical Demands
Job requires sitting for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull less than 20lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.

This is a restricted position, which is dependent on funding and is contingent upon funding availability.
This position is based in Charlottesville, VA, and must be performed fully on-site.
