Zone Maintenance and Event Coordinator

Facilities Management (FM) is offering an exciting opportunity for a Zone Maintenance and Event Coordinator to support the department’s mission of providing consistent, cost-effective, and reliable customer service, maintenance services, and event support within the University’s Central Grounds Zone. This position supports both historic and modern facilities, including Thomas Jefferson’s Academical Village—a UNESCO World Heritage Site encompassing the Rotunda, Pavilions, and Lawn and Range student rooms.
The Zone Maintenance and Event Coordinator is responsible for coordinating maintenance trade activities, including corrective repairs, installations, preventive maintenance, and event support. The position plays a critical role in planning, scheduling, and tracking preventive and planned maintenance activities within and across maintenance zones to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable service delivery, and that includes supporting various University events and performing small maintenance projects
This role will utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to schedule work, monitor work order progress and completion, and maintain accurate work documentation. Responsibilities also include facilitating project coordination; obtaining vendor pricing and quotes; ensuring the timely availability of tools, materials, and equipment; assisting with scheduled utility outage coordination; and supporting the adoption and effective use of work data tools, applications, and standardized Facilities Management processes.
Core Responsibilities include:
Work collaboratively with maintenance supervisors and staff to build trades’ schedules for maintenance work and event support.
Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey information clearly, concisely and professionally to colleagues and customers.
Meet with customers to assess, guide, and review maintenance, project and event needs.
Oversee small maintenance projects, including contracts with outside vendors.
Utilize the AIM workorder system to coordinate staffing schedules and manage work orders for the team.
Source and order materials; contracting vendors for small projects.
Review budgets, job plans and compile data to ensure timely completion and cost-effectiveness of both routine and project work being performed.
Utilize Tableau reporting software to create reports.
Required Qualifications:
Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, CMMS and/or scheduling software such as Microsoft Project
High school diploma or equivalent
2 years employment experience in the building construction, maintenance, or materials industry, including organizing the work of others, and
using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), project management software, or materials inventory program
Valid Driver's license
Preferred Qualifications:
4 years of progressively responsible experience
Professional license in one of the following trades: Electrical, Plumbing, or HVAC
Class A builder's license
Compensation:
The Anticipated Hiring Range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr ($58,240 - $66,560 Annually), dependent on experience and qualifications. This is a full-time position with UVA benefits. Employee benefits package highlights include:

Physical Demands:
This position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders, crawl, stoop, bend, squat, lift, pull, and use both hands for repetitive and overhead tasks. Normal vision and hearing (correctable) are required; in some areas, color vision and sense of smell may be necessary.
