Nursing Supervisor, Student Health and Wellness

Supervisor Duties include:
- Supervises, manages and supports the day to day nursing personnel staffing and performance of Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (C.N.A.s) working in Medical Services.
- Oversees the preparation of schedules utilizing staff as appropriate. Adjusts according to patient flow.
- Develops programs which address continuous quality improvement, system enhancement, streamlined processes, patient experience, and overall nursing personnel performance.
- Ensures compliance with appropriate regulatory requirements specific to the unit supervised.
- Ensures that the highest quality nursing care is provided to patients and their families.
- Develops and manages partnerships with clinicians, physicians, and administrative counterparts to achieve common goals.
- Promotes integration of multidisciplinary work groups.
- Manages recruitment, performance, team member engagement, and retention activities of assigned staff.
- May serve as a representative to organizational committees.
- In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
Clinical Duties include:
- Assess patients using nursing skills to evaluate vital signs, breath sounds, and any specific observations needed.
- Perform specific therapeutic interventions that assist medical evaluation.
- Read and synthesize information from patients' files, which may include medical histories, prescribed medications, vital sign readings, and clinical observations, to learn about patients' conditions, determine patients' care priorities, and prepare test requisitions according to physicians' specifications.
- Communicate patient status and changes in patient condition as appropriate, and collaborate with Director of Nursing Services to address complex issues.
- In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing from accredited nursing program.
Experience: At least 3 years of progressively more responsible experience as a registered nurse in a patient care environment required.
Licensure: License to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia required. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
About the Position

Job requires sitting/standing for prolonged periods and frequently bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50 – 100lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, radiation, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
The anticipated hiring range for this position is $104,000-$118,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience. The selected candidate will pass a background check and drug screen.
