This position will be an integral member of the core Clinical Operations administrative team leading efforts to provide exceptional care in a financially sustainable operating model. The Senior Analyst will serve as a critical resource for the Clinical Operations senior leadership team, and the organization, producing complex financial models to inform sound decision making in operational planning, growth planning, and financial opportunity optimization.
- Budget Development and Oversight: Partner with Director, Clinical Finance and Operations to develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive financial management practices, including budget preparation, expenditure monitoring, and financial reporting to ensure fiscal accountability and sustainability. Lead Clinical Operations teams in meeting budget process schedules, goals, and objectives. Partner with UPG finance and accounting teams to ensure accuracy of Clinical Operations financial statements.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize financial and operational data analytics to monitor clinical operations performance, patient outcomes, and operational efficiency, ensuring continuous improvement and financial viability in service delivery. Develop proformas to assess new opportunities and inform strategic decision making. Present outcomes and recommendations to UPG Executive and Clinical Operations Senior leaders.
- Strategic Planning: Provide data, modeling, and recommendations to the Clinical Operations Senior Leadership team to inform strategic planning and priority setting.
- Operational Efficiency: Monitor and improve financial and operational efficiencies within practices. Evaluate Clinical Operations performance to industry benchmarks to identify outliers and opportunities.
- Revenue Optimization: Evaluate strategic opportunities for revenue growth through service line or provider growth/additions. Work with cross-functional teams to operationalize.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a liaison with administrative and professional staff within UPG and the larger UVA Health system. Work collaboratively with clinical and operations leaders and teams within Clinical Operations on opportunity for optimization and to ensure feasibility when building financial models.
- Administer Provider Compensation Plans: Prepare provider productivity reporting quarterly incentive payments. Review provider productivity, compensation and other metrics against industry benchmarks and develop recommendations.
- Leadership: Represent Director, Clinical Finance and Operations in different forums as needed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare finance or quantitative analysis. Master’s degree is typical and may substitute for some experience.
Knowledge and skills:
- Proven financial management and strong analytical skills. Demonstrated track record of working effectively with diverse teams and driving financial success. Able to effectively produce and share information in a way that is understandable and relevant to different stakeholder groups on a forma, informal, written, and verbal basis.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
WORKING CONDITIONS: Primarily a sedentary role with extensive use of desktop computers; some travel to attend meetings and collaborate with teams in Clinical Operations practices.
