We are currently seeking a Post-Doctoral Research Associate to work in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the School of Engineering and Applied Science, University of Virginia with Professor Eric Loth. We are seeking a qualified candidate with expertise in the research and development floating wind turbine platforms, with computational and experimental experience.

QUALIFICATIONS: A Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics or a related field is required by the start date. Candidates must have experience with floating wind turbine design in terms of energy capture efficiency, operational regimes, annual energy production, Design Load Cases and atmospheric conditions. In addition, experience with experimental and computational tools for floating wind turbine platforms ia required. Such experience can be demonstrated with publications in these fields. The candidate must be able to work in team environment, mentor graduate students, lead new research initiatives and meet project goal deadlines/reports.
