Demonstrates mastery in engineering disciplines including electronics pneumatics mechanical systems TCP/IP networking wireless communication protocols chemistry and inonizing radiation human anatomy and physiology. Independently designs and develops healthcare technology management programs to meet the needs of a diverse healthcare population of patients caregivers and LIPs Responsible for managing the coordination and provision of comprehensive medical equipment related services in focus clinical and administrative areas including technical support training procedural assistance vendor interface preventive maintenance and repair on complex medical equipment. Knowledge of systems and tools is proficient to aid in development and to resolve equipment problems and issues
- Perform as full-service expert in focus clinical and administrative areas including but not limited to radiology/imaging laboratory or respiratory therapy
- Demonstrates mastery of preventive maintenance (PM) and repairs on minor to complex medical equipment
- Demonstrates mastery in maintaining UVA medical equipment inventory system
- Paperwork for addition of new equipment to include accurate description warranty expiration dates model class department and location of item is complete and accurate
- Serial numbers model numbers and clinical engineering identification of all maintained equipment are consistently verified
- Resolves discrepancies in computerized equipment management system- Inventory in specialty area is validated annually
- Coordinate and/or perform installation and initial inspections on medical equipment
- Ensures compliance with all safety rules codes practices and policies
- Mentors and trains technical staff.
- In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree required.
Experience: None. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Licensure: May require Valid Virginia Driver’s License as specified by position.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
The starting base rate for this role is $33.94 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.Benefits
