UVA Health's Division of Allergy is seeking a skilled and motivated Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join a growing specialty practice at a premier academic medical center. This is a full-time position offering a structured, supportive entry into a dynamic clinical environment — with a generous ramp-up and onboarding period designed to set the incoming APP up for long-term success.

The APP will split clinical effort between two distinct and high-demand practice areas: the Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EOE) Clinic and a general adult allergy clinic. In both settings, the APP will function as an independent, patient-facing clinician delivering high-quality specialty care in collaboration with attending allergists and the broader multidisciplinary team. As space utilization efforts continue to evolve, the incumbent APP's physical practice locations may also adapt to best support broader operational needs.

Upon joining UVA Health, this APP will also become a member of the Center for Advanced Practice (CAP) — UVA Health's enterprise-wide community of APPs — providing access to professional development resources, peer support, and organizational leadership dedicated to advancing the APP role.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Prior clinical experience in allergy, asthma, or immunology strongly preferred; candidates with adjacent ambulatory specialty backgrounds will be considered
  • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and commitment to staying current with evolving evidence, guidelines, and specialty-specific practice
  • Strong work ethic with a consistent track record of reliability, follow-through, and high-quality clinical output
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic practice environment, including willingness to adjust workflows as the role and division continue to develop
  • Comfort with bidirectional feedback — both seeking and offering candid, constructive input as part of a culture of continuous improvement
  • Self-directed advocacy for one's own practice, including the ability to identify learning needs, communicate professional goals, and engage proactively with APP and physician leadership
