The Academic Program Analyst, who reports to the Director of Degree Program Administration, provides advanced operational, analytical, compliance, and administrative support for academic programs within the School of Nursing. This hybrid position supports academic operations leadership through coordination of reporting processes, data management, compliance activities, operational analysis, financial tracking, and program administration.

Working collaboratively within the Office of Academic Operations, the Academic Program Analyst helps support efficient program operations, informed decision-making, regulatory and accreditation processes, and continuous improvement efforts across academic programs.

Key Responsibilities

Academic Program Operations and Analysis

  • Provide operational and administrative support for academic programs, program leadership, and faculty initiatives.
  • Support program evaluation, admissions, operational reporting, data tracking, accreditation, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Assist with preparation and maintenance of reports, spreadsheets, summaries, and operational documentation related to program activities.
  • Serves as a champion of varied School of Nursing platforms and supports system use, implementation, tracking, review, and data integrity.

Reporting and Data Management

  • Support university related compliance processes, reporting activities, documentation tracking, and operational requirements associated with academic programs.
  • Maintain and update program-related databases, reporting systems, spreadsheets, and records.
  • Assist with posting, maintaining, and tracking data and reporting-related information as needed.
  • Support data collection, analysis, and reporting activities related to accreditation, program evaluation, student outcomes, and operational effectiveness.

Financial and Administrative Support

  • Assist with budget and expense-related processes.
  • Assist with monitoring operational expenditures and maintaining appropriate supporting documentation within the Office of Academic Operations

Program Coordination and Operational Support

  • Assist with coordination of program-related events, operational meetings, and special projects.
  • Provide data-related support to faculty and program leaders, including reports, tracking tools, and system-based documentation.
  • Monitor syllabi compliance (submissions, accessibility requirements, missing or incomplete items) and follow up as needed for accreditation or reporting purposes.
  • Assist with the management of exit surveys, alumni year-one surveys, alumni year-five surveys, and related data summaries.
  • Supports students indirectly through accurate tracking of clinical, enrollment, CSLC scheduling, survey, and program data.

Collaboration and Service

  • Collaborate effectively with staff, faculty, students, University offices, and external partners to support program operations and institutional goals.
  • Contribute to a professional, organized, collaborative, and service-oriented work environment.
  • Participate in School meetings, trainings, committees, and professional development activities as assigned.
  • Track and help manage enrollment data with the Registrar for program planning and reporting, including the Record.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree or combination of education and related experience in lieu of a degree required.

Experience: 3+ years of relevant experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in data management and analytics, program coordination, operations, and/or related administrative functions.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, spreadsheets, databases, and administrative technology systems.
  • Experience working in higher education, healthcare, academic program administration, or operational support environments.
  • Familiarity with accreditation, compliance, reporting, or program evaluation processes.
  • Experience with student information systems, reporting platforms, financial systems, or data management tools.

The successful candidate will demonstrate professionalism, initiative, analytical thinking, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach to supporting academic operations and program effectiveness. The individual should be highly organized, adaptable, and capable of managing operational and analytical responsibilities while supporting academic leadership.

Physical Demands

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.

Hiring Range: $55,000 – $65,000, commensurate with education and experience.

  • This position is based in Charlottesville, VA, and is eligible for a hybrid schedule, with additional on-site presence as needed, after required in-person training and in accordance with UVA’s remote work guidelines.
