You'll serve as a trusted Desktop Services representative for Community Health projects, helping create more efficient, standardized, and reliable deployment processes across the organization.

What You'll Do

As the Desktop Project Field Engineer, you will:
  • Represent Desktop Services during project planning, design, and implementation meetings
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for endpoint technology project requirements
  • Coordinate hardware procurement, inventory, logistics, staging, and deployment activities
  • Track project milestones, risks, dependencies, and action items
  • Coordinate software deployments, imaging, licensing, printers, peripherals, and device validation
  • Support Epic endpoint requirements and implementation activities
  • Partner with project managers, clinical teams, vendors, and technical teams to ensure project readiness
  • Provide on-site support during deployments and go-live events
  • Escalate technical issues to the appropriate teams and help drive resolution
  • Deliver project status updates and readiness reporting to leadership

Work Environment

This is a project-focused role supporting Community Health initiatives across UVA Health.
Candidates should expect:
  • A mix of onsite and project-based work
  • Travel to Community Health locations for assessments, deployments, and go-live support
  • Collaboration with a wide variety of teams and stakeholders
  • Occasional early morning, evening, or implementation support during critical project phases

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor’s degree
Experience: 5 years relevant experience. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Licensure: Valid Virginia Driver’s License required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.

The pay range for this role is $82,720.00 - $165,439.00 annually. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
