UVA Health is seeking a strategic healthcare finance leader to serve in a mission-critical role at the center of the organization's revenue strategy. As UVA Health continues to expand its hospitals, services, and healthcare assets, this position will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and long-term sustainability of patient revenue forecasting, analysis, and reporting.
This highly visible opportunity sits at the intersection of revenue cycle operations and finance, providing significant influence over how revenue performance is evaluated across the health system. The Revenue Officer will partner with finance, reimbursement, operational, and executive leaders to support key decisions that impact organizational growth, financial performance, and future strategic planning.
The Role
This position is eligible for remote work, with on-site meetings required no more than once per quarter.
The Revenue Officer serves as a key advisor and analytical leader responsible for ensuring revenue methodologies, assumptions, calculations, and reporting structures are appropriate from both operational and financial perspectives. Working closely with the Strategic Planning & Reimbursement Officer, this individual will help drive sophisticated revenue forecasting, financial analysis, reimbursement evaluation, and long-range planning efforts across UVA Health.
This is a complex and highly collaborative role that combines elements of accounting, financial analysis, operations, healthcare reimbursement, and organizational strategy. Success requires a strong analytical mindset, the ability to navigate complex healthcare revenue environments, and the skill to build partnerships across multiple departments and leadership teams.
Key responsibilities include:
Estimating and forecasting net patient revenue using Epic and other financial systems.
Evaluating reimbursement trends, payment patterns, payer mix shifts, and estimate variances.
Performing month-end financial analysis related to revenue recognition and accounts receivable collectability.
Partnering with operational and finance leaders to assess the financial impact of organizational changes and strategic initiatives.
Supporting implementation and optimization efforts involving Strata, Workday, Epic, and other financial platforms.
Collaborating with auditors and external reviewers to ensure accurate revenue recognition and reporting.
Analyzing governmental reimbursement programs and understanding the impact of evolving regulatory requirements.
Assisting with budgeting, financial modeling, and multi-year revenue projections.
Completing key healthcare finance surveys and reports that support organizational planning and compliance.
Helping develop a highly reliable, data-driven approach to revenue analysis that supports executive decision-making.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor's degree in business, finance, information technology, human resources or related field
Experience: 10 years of progressively responsible business administration and leadership experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
The pay range for this role is $150,000.00 - $266,099.00 annually. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.Benefits
