Department Overview
Walker & Dunlop Investment Sales (WDIS) represents the nation’s premier multifamily owners, developers, and operators with the highest level of investment advisory service. Since 2003, the WDIS experts have built a reputation as a market leader in multifamily investment sales and surpassed $19B in annual sales volume in 2022. We work with institutional and private clients, and we are active in seniors housing & healthcare, student housing, and land sales across the country.
The Impact You Will Have
The Transaction Manager position is a critical role serving primarily the Indianapolis office but also the greater team of Walker & Dunlop’s Midwest Investment Sales operation. The Midwest team is comprised of four offices based in Indianapolis, Chicago, Grand Rapids and Columbus. Producers in these four markets act as a single team, sharing personnel resources, access to capital, execution strategies and more, and the team is economically aligned in an effort to create a true team concept. This makes the Midwest team unlike other investment sales platforms in the nation both inside and outside of Walker & Dunlop.
Primary Responsibilities
Oversight, coordination, delegation, and execution of all Indianapolis operations as well as some degree of work with the greater Midwest team.
Monitoring and ensuring the compliance with all team deadlines as well as internal and external obligations.
Implementation and full utilization of various systems including both 1) in-place Walker & Dunlop platforms such as SalesForce, Galaxy, Entrata, Asana, etc., as well as 2) customized systems designed to ensure constant business development contact and maximize efficiency in team executions.
Overseeing all buyer due diligence operations.
Calling in appropriate internal and external resources as necessary to oversee the planning and execution of a variety of team functions such as client events, dinners, forums, etc.
Running weekly Indy pipeline meetings.
Overseeing occasional team hiring needs.
Administering accountability for team production goals.
Establishing rhythm in external publications, press releases, interviews and use of LinkedIn.
Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree (Finance and/or Real Estate concentration preferred)
5+ years of experience in Finance, Real Estate or related field
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Client relationship management skills
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to accurately and productively handle multiple tasks during time sensitive situations
Ability and willingness to work extended hours or weekends to meet deadlines when appropriate
Excellent financial modeling skills including thorough knowledge of Excel
Proficiency in MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat and Word, and ability to learn Salesforce and other company software as needed
Advanced written and oral communication skills
Ability to show ownership of your work, take on challenges and acknowledge growth opportunities, and demonstrate patience when learning new processes
Courtesy, respect, and thoughtfulness in teaming with colleagues and other stakeholders
