About the Role
The Private Investments – Investment Analyst position is a multi-faceted role supporting the business management, investment oversight, and client service needs of private investment products. The person who fills this position will support a wide range of business and investment-related activities including product management, performance and portfolio analytics, client service, client reporting, marketing, working with outside vendors, and inter-departmental projects. This role requires strong analytical skills, including knowledge of global financial and private markets, performance and portfolio analysis techniques, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment. They will be expected to collaborate with other colleagues within Wellington; in particular, Alternative Directors, Fund Services, Private Investment Technology, Private Investment Services, Marketing, and Compliance. We are looking for candidates with an entrepreneurial spirit to contribute to building a new business line within our organization. This role will be focused on the firm’s private credit strategies.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Private Investments – Investment Analyst’s primary responsibilities will include the following:
• Support Investment Directors and Specialists across product management, business and investment-related responsibilities
• Collaborate with senior members of the Private Investment team to perform analytical work supporting the management and oversight of the Private Credit products (performance/IRR, risk, and portfolio analysis, etc.)
• Prepare and review fund documents, content, and marketing materials, including RFPs, to be shared externally with clients and prospects
• Assist in the development and integration of technology initiatives
• Supporting the Investment Directors and Specialists, and Business Developers in sales and relationship management activities, including fundraising, investor due diligence requests, ongoing investor requests, and the development of new investment strategies
• Over time, participate in meetings with clients, prospects, and consultants to communicate our investment philosophy, strategy, portfolio companies, and performance
QUALIFICATIONS
Success in the role requires an interest in markets, passion for learning, and a willingness to own one’s own development. A positive, collegial attitude and high level of professionalism are essential, as are creativity, initiative and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with tight deadlines. We seek individuals that possess the analytical skills and ability to organize and interpret investment data to reach conclusions as well as effective verbal and written communication skills.
Further, the ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
• 2-5 years of relevant experience and progress towards the CFA are preferred
• A university degree with very strong academic credentials
• Working knowledge of and interest in Private investments
• Strong technical skills and mastery of MS Excel
• Demonstrated analytical skills including the ability to organize and synthesize data to reach conclusions
• Solid judgment, intellectual curiosity, and willingness to take a differentiated perspective
• Attention to detail combined with a solutions-oriented mindset
• Ability to write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings
• Articulate with an interest in developing presentation skills
• Ability to work both independently and in collaboration with a global team
• Creativity, thoroughness, and ability to prioritize

Our approach to compensation considers all aspects of total compensation; all employees are eligible to receive salary, variable compensation, and benefits. The base salary range for this position is:
USD 65,000 - 150,000This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; role; skills and experience; certifications; and education. This range is an estimate, and further details on salary and total compensation aspects will be shared with candidates during the recruitment process.
Base salary is only one component of Wellington’s total compensation approach. Other rewards may include a discretionary Corporate Bonus and/ or Incentives, if eligible.
