About the Role

The Position

Our global investment platform is comprised of over 700 investment professionals across six investment functions (Boutiques, Hedge Funds, Privates, Research, Risk & Science, Strategy, and Trading) in eight locations (Boston, Hong Kong, London, New York, Radnor, San Francisco, Singapore, and Tokyo).

Within the investment platform, we are seeking a Strategic Initiatives Analyst to partner with various senior stakeholders across the platform to drive strategic initiatives forward. The Strategic Initiatives Analyst will be a member of the Investment Platform COO Function residing at the intersection of the investment functions. The group is building shared ‘Centers of Excellence’ to benefit all investment groups and ensure the platform is flexible and adaptable to changing client needs and market conditions. Located in Boston, the Strategic Initiatives Analyst will report to the Dir, IP Business Intelligence & Management.

Essential Skills

The following essential skills are required for the role:

  • Project management expertise with strategic orientation–The ideal candidate will partner with leaders across the investment platform and broader firm to help develop and execute the strategic initiatives of the platform. Strong project management capabilities, including the ability to develop and maintain detailed project plans, define clear milestones, and proactively track progress against deadlines is required. Experience in driving fast-paced initiatives and collaborating across multiple groups and platforms is key to success in this role.
  • Superior collaboration and influencing skills – The successful candidate will enjoy contributing to a highly collaborative environment. The Strategic Initiatives Analyst will build strong trusting relationships internally with colleagues across not only in the investment platform, but also business partners in IT, Product Management, Human Resources, and Finance. The ability to clearly communicate (both verbally and in writing), integrate numerous viewpoints, and mobilize/influence across all levels of the organization is critical.
  • Growth mindset – The flexibility and openness to continue learning, evolving and growing as a business strategist. The ideal candidate will have a global perspective and creative approach for thinking about innovation and the evolution of our firm within the broader asset management industry.

Responsibilities

Areas of responsibility will include but are not limited to:

  • Partner with cross-functional leaders and teams (investment, operations, technology, legal, etc.) to help scope, structure, and execute strategic initiatives.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis to support decision-making and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, track milestones, and ensure timely delivery of key initiatives.
  • Prepare executive-level presentations and materials for senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Navigate ambiguity and quickly ramp up on unfamiliar topics or business areas.
  • Support the COO and broader leadership team in driving operational efficiency and platform scalability.

Other Qualifications

Additional qualifications and characteristics include:

  • 1–3 years of experience in management consulting, internal strategy, or a similar role.
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering results in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to distill complex topics into clear, actionable insights.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple workstreams simultaneously.
  • Credibility to engage productively with senior investors and leaders, including ability to constructively challenge status quo and solve problems.
  • An understanding of the global capital markets and a keen interest in understanding the investment process.
  • Ability to navigate stressful situations with poise; focused on being a calming presence, active listener and pragmatic problem solver.
  • Excellent business writing, PowerPoint, and Excel skills are required.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, CFA, etc.) is a plus but not required.

Our approach to compensation considers all aspects of total compensation; all employees are eligible to receive salary, variable compensation, and benefits. The base salary range for this position is:

USD 65,000 - 150,000

This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; role; skills and experience; certifications; and education. This range is an estimate, and further details on salary and total compensation aspects will be shared with candidates during the recruitment process.

Base salary is only one component of Wellington’s total compensation approach. Other rewards may include a discretionary Corporate Bonus and/ or Incentives, if eligible.
