Department Overview

This role is part of the Strategy function within the Strategy, Digital & Innovation (SDI) LOB at I&P. This role will help enable the organization to operate in a manner consistent with its vision, goals, and objectives. With the right people, processes, and tools in place, this role will help drive an integrated, consistent, and efficient operating model across SDI.


About the Role

The SDI Strategy function is seeking experienced professionals to help identify, develop and deliver solutions to complex and challenging business problems using a variety of approaches, methodologies, tools and platforms.

This is a dynamic team of high performing individuals is focused on cultivating deep relationships with the most compelling companies in the payment ecosystem. Our mission, as part of the Enterprise Payment Strategy Group is to methodically identify, develop, and execute on ideas that better serve our customers, drive growth, and reduce expenses.

Responsibilities

Supports existing engagements

  • Facilitates initiatives, working on strategic and complex business challenges
  • Has an intuitive understanding of the business problems, and is able to leverage own and others’ experience to come up with efficient and effective solutions with a bias for action
  • Helps define and measure metrics to capture improvements expected from solutions
  • Obtains feedback from engagements and synthesizes learning to continuously improve methodologies and outcomes of engagements

Ability to synthesize information

  • Strong ability to deal with structured and unstructured information, as well as synthesize tribal knowledge and learnings from various sources
  • Giving executives, product leaders, and subject matter experts the insights and information needed to deliver positive, outcomes-driven impact.
  • Great at communication – written, verbal and visual – should have the ability to tailor content and messaging to audiences at varying levels of seniority

Leadership

  • Ability to forge strong working relationships with peers and colleagues across teams and various levels within the organization while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
  • Effectively drive results, provide feedback/direction, and manage and build relationships with leaders and team members in a geographically dispersed team environment.
  • Demonstrate high levels of ownership and commitment
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals

Required skillset:

  • Strategic planning experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of preparing executive summaries and presentations for management/senior leaders
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Confidence to work remotely and establish rapport in non-face-to-face situations


Required Qualifications:

5 to 7 years of experience in Strategy and Planning, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications -

8+ years of experience in industry and knowledge research

Experience in Banking (captives) is preferred

Strategic thinking and the ability to ramp up on unfamiliar topics quickly and effectively

Experience in developing detailed project plans with clear deliverables and timelines.
