Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Business Growth Strategy Consultant in Consumer Small & Business Banking providing coverage for Branch Banking, Chief Customer Office, CSBB Control, CSBB Diverse Customer Segments, CSBB Operations, CSBB Strategy & Transformation, Consumer Marketing, Deposit Products Group, and Small Business.

In this role, you will:

  • Demonstrate executive presence during facilitation of content virtually and, at times, in person, to geographically dispersed teams
  • Lead complex initiatives for business development including those that are cross-functional with broad impact
  • Act as key participant in growth opportunities in an assigned market
  • Ensure adherence to compliance regulations and policies within Business Growth Strategy functional area
  • Perform research within Business Growth Strategy functional area, identifying and selecting best channels and product combinations to improve effectiveness and efficiency of coverage in marketplace and to meet the unique needs of customers
  • Manage one to two consultants or cross-functional teams within Business Growth Strategy functional area
  • Make decisions in developing strategies to enhance growth opportunities in a designated market and exercise independent judgment while developing expertise in Business Growth Strategy functional area, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
  • Lead a team to meet business objectives within Business Growth Strategy functional area
  • Collaborate and consult with Business Growth Strategy managers, colleagues, stakeholders, bankers, brokers, and both business and community leaders, including internal or external customers to grow market share and meet customer needs
  • Serve as a mentor for less experienced individuals

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Business Growth Strategy experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • 3 + years of leadership experience including coaching, training, and mentoring
  • 3+ years of experience working in the Financial Services Industry directly with bankers or financial advisors
  • Knowledge and understanding of the retail banking environment and affluent client markets
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Excellent program management and organization skills including the ability to manage across multiple projects and partners.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work and influence successfully within a matrix environment and build effective business partnerships with all levels of team members
  • Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment
  • Consulting certifications or formal coaching education
  • Experience operating effectively in a geographically dispersed organization
  • Ability to interact with integrity and a high level of professionalism with all levels of customers, team members and management
  • Virtual leadership experience with ability to effectively drive results, provide feedback/direction, and manage and build relationships with leaders and team members in a geographically dispersed team environment

Job Expectations:

  • This position offers a hybrid work schedule
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
  • Registration for Series 7 must be completed within 90 days of hire date

Obtaining and/or maintaining appropriate Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) license(s) is required for ongoing employment in this position. FINRA Series 7 examinations, or equivalent must be completed within either a 90 or 180-day time period following commencement of employment, depending upon the number of license(s) needed if not immediately available to transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted. This will be communicated at time of offer acceptance. Compliance with state law registration and licensing requirements is mandatory. In addition to state registration and licensing requirements, specific product licenses or SAFE licensing may apply. Additional requirements include meeting enhanced financial fitness and criminal background standards. Wells Fargo will initiate the FINRA licensing review process at the time of offer acceptance. For specific FINRA qualification exams obtained after 9/30/2018, the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam co-requisite is required.

Salary Range:

  • New York, New York - $115,900-$206,100 annual base.

Salary range is determined by location of the job. May be considered for a discretionary bonus.
