About this role:

Wells Fargo is looking for Senior Database Engineer in IT Service Operations group that will be key member of the Oracle Infrastructure Database Operations team. This position provide Oracle database support on Exadata and RH Servers to Line of Business Database Engineers and Application partners. In this role, you will:

  • Lead or participate in database management activities including designing highly complex logical and physical databases
  • Lead highly complex data modeling, mapping, integration, and capacity planning efforts
  • Perform the planning, research, design, implementation, maintenance and troubleshooting activities for database system
  • Monitor database performance and recommend improvements for operational efficiency.
  • Perform database enhancement and modification as per the requirements.
  • Perform database recovery and backup tasks on daily and weekly basis.
  • Identify and recommend database techniques to support business needs.
  • Maintain database security and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Design and implement security solutions including encryption and auditing
  • Design and certify next generation database technologies
  • Consult with and advise management and multiple clients on high impact data or database management issues, influencing strategic direction
  • Provide technical leadership and recommendation into the future direction of database technology
  • Develop management policies, procedures, standards, and best practices
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
  • Provide oversight, mentoring, and leadership to less experienced staff

Required Qualifications:

4+ years of Database Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Oracle DBA Experience
  • 4+ years of performance tuning experience
  • 3+ years of experience with Oracle technologies including, but not limited to, Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and performance tuning and UNIX technologies such as Linux
  • 3+ years of experience with one or more of the following programming languages: Python or KornShell (KSH)
  • Experience with Oracle GoldenGate replication
  • Experience with one or a combination of the following databases: Oracle, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, YugabyteDB with specific experience supporting encryption technology and encryption key management

Job Expectations:

  • Provide 8x7 on-call support for complex production problems to include experience with escalation and communication of the problem to senior management
