About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Systems Operations Engineer.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex, broad impact initiatives including provision of high level systems consultation for the technology teams
  • Work as key participant in large scale planning of computer systems and network infrastructure for Systems Operations functional area
  • Review and analyze complex technical challenges, as well as escalated support issues related to core business solutions that require in depth evaluation of multiple factors, such as alternatives, enhancements, periodic systems reviews, or improvements to existing systems
  • Make decisions on technical changes and enhancements
  • Consult with engineering team on change design requiring solid understanding of technical process controls or standards that influence and drive new initiatives
  • Collaborate and consult with technical peers, colleagues, and mid to more experienced level managers to resolve systems support issues and achieve goals
  • Handle medium level complexity technical support issues.
  • Handle outage calls efficiently.
  • Do Root Cause Analysis of repetitive and problem issues.
  • Help team members in handling L2and L3 issues.
  • Ownership of tasks assigned and meeting the deadlines with support from lead.
  • Identify and automate manual steps in support work and SRE initiatives
  • Streamline existing process in project.
  • Focusing on documentation of new issues and resolution steps for knowledge base enhancement.
  • Adhere to processes defined in the project.
  • Actively participate in team meeting and in meetings with stakeholders/internal or external teams.
  • Handle shift support independently and seek help for complex task as needed.

Essential Qualifications

  • University degree in Computer applications or related discipline.
  • Experience of more than 10 years in Application support using Java technologies
  • Good and sound knowledge on J2EE, Hibernate, Spring, Angular.
  • Good knowledge on Database, preferably Oracle
  • Knowledge of Shell scripting
  • Experience working with monitoring tools (AppDynamics, Splunk, Big Panda,)
  • Understanding about SRE and experience in observability.
  • Good hands on experience in coding/scripting and automation of support tasks.
  • Experience in handling technical support issues and automating manual steps, and proven record of ability to do deep dive into RCA analysis and finding solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Fluency in English and good communication skills.
  • Good team player and lead who is capable of handling multiple shift and guide team.
  • Experience of working across one or more geographic territories or regions.
  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or Related Field.
  • 5+ years of experience in an SRE or DevOps role, preferably in a hybrid infrastructure & cloud environment.
  • 3+ years of development experience in one or more or programming languages.
  • 3+ years of experience in building application dashboards for proactive monitoring, setting up Alerts.
  • Proven Technical Expertise with one or more of the following:
    • Automation: Ansible, GitHub, Python, Java, Shell, PowerShell
    • Observability: Grafana, Elastic Search, Kibana, Kafka, Apache Airflow, AppDynamics, Splunk, Jaeger, Zipkin
    • Work Management: Jira, Confluence
    • OS and Platform: Windows, Linux, Kubernetes, PCF
  • Familiarity with large scale distributed systems and high-availability architectures.
  • Exposure and experience in agile development life cycle.
  • Highly motivated person with the ability to learn new technologies hands on an on-going basis.
  • Excellent written communication, interpersonal communication, and documentation skills.
