The Wells Fargo Securities Europe (WFSE) Paris Middle Office team belongs to the WFSE Operations team, which covers Middle Office (Trade & Sales Support), Client Onboarding, and Project Management.
The Middle office team works closely with Front Office (Sales & trading teams), and our partners from other support functions e.g. Settlements / Transaction Reporting / Client Onboarding teams on a daily basis. The role requires making sure all activity is booked in a timely manner, performing trade enrichment where necessary, processing Allocations, ready for good settlement and reporting. The role also includes working closely with Finance, Compliance, Risk teams, Client Money, COO Teams and other Operations and global Middle Office teams regularly.
The Middle Office Function is a control function and it is imperative that all team members’ work in a controlled manner to manage risk and follow procedure at all times. We are a function that is very sensitive to Operational Risk and Audit. Answering accurately to internal (from Internal Audit or other control functions) or external (from regulators) regulatory inquiries is a key part of the function
They will also work with Technology and other Middle Office teams globally on global projects and process improvements and cover other MO teams (London mostly) when required.
(Note: In addition to these functions team members may be required to carry out other duties to support the Business/Firm).
In this role, you will:
Provide full trade support cover for all traders/sales teams in a controlled manner by following all MO procedures.
Contact teams internally or externally (ie the client) to solve in a timely manner any break or issue that may appear on a trade.
Good knowledge on Equity and Fixed income (bonds) assets (knowledge on Rates (swap) /FX/Credit/Repo would be appreciated).
Have a high level of attention to detail to ensure all trades checked before verified on trade date.
Intra-day Risk and P&L reporting, investigation of discrepancies between reported and posted P&L.
Monitoring of daily trading exception reports.
Resolution of trade queries.
Run, analyze and solve breaks of front to back reconciliations
Work closely with Settlements/Payments functions.
Liaise with Risk and Product Control Departments to resolve any discrepancies between Middle Office and other reports produced elsewhere.
Participation in system upgrades / testing
Team player and must show flexibility for working early morning shifts, or late evening shifts.
Ability to work with team members and business partners across the bank.
Project work/Ad hoc management requests.
Enhancement of the control framework around the daily processes.
Maintenance and enhancement of governance documents (e.g. Process flows and procedures).
Act as the link between business requirements and technology solutions.
Fact finding for any Issue and help escalation to Management.
Ensure all Initiatives are captured on the teams BOW and is updates at all times.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have a strong academic background and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Middle Office position.
Knowledge on CTM, Fidessa, Catalyst will be great assets.
They must be analytical with strong verbal and written communication skills.
An excellent understanding of life cycle knowledge of Cash Securities (Bonds & Equities) – knowledge of the Allocation process would be a big plus.
Good understanding of trade lifecycle across the Rates and FX (including NDF Fixings) and OTC products (CDS).
Good Settlement knowledge across DTC, Fed, Euroclear and Clearstream.
Ability to work across multiple regions.
Must have advance Excel skills and ideally coding skills (VBA/ Python) experience.
Confident and the ability to work under pressure of a trading floor and deliver on strict deadlines.

- Connaissance des process de dénouement (DTC, Fed, Euroclear, Clearstream)
- Capacité à travailler dans un environnement international
- Parfaite maitrise d'Excel, et idéalement connaissance d'un langage de programmation (VBA/Python)
- Capacité à travailler sous pression dans une salle de marchés et avec des deadlines serrées
- Excellentes qualités interpersonnelles
Le middle office travaille avec les équipes Front office (trading & sales), et tous les équipes partenaires des autres fonction support par exemple les equipes de Settlement, de Client Onboarding, etc.... Le role consiste à s'assurer que l'ensemble des transactions sont enregistrées dans les délais prescrits, enrichir l'enregistrement quand nécessaire, afin que les transactions puissent dénouer et être reportées correctement. Le role impliquera de travailler en coopération rapprochées avec les équipes Finance, Conformité, risques, Client Money, COO, ainsi que toutes les autres équipes du département Opérations.
Le role de Middle office est une fonction de controle, impliquant de gérer le risque opérationnel, et de respecter strictement les procédures. Nous sommes extremement sensibles au risque opérationnel. Répondre de façon adéquate aux demandes des auditeurs ou régulateurs internes ou externes fait partie intégrante du role.
Enfin, le role implique de travailler avec les équipes informatiques ainsi que d 'autres équipes Middle Office de différentes locations afin de travailler sur des projets globaux, et améliorer les process. Le role inclue egalement la couverture de certaines taches d'autres equipes middle office, principalement l'équipe de Londres.
De plus, d'autres taches pourront etre couvertes par le Middle office en fonction des besoin de l'équipe/ de l'entreprise.
