About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Macro Sales Associate to join our growing Japan business.


In this role, you will:

  • Responsible for covering Japanese institutional clients on Wells Fargo's macro products, especially FX and Rates derivatives (Interest Rate Swaps, Cross Currency Swaps, Swaptions).
  • Price and execute FX and Rates derivatives for clients.
  • Work on eFX and eRates space to expand Wells Fargo’s e-commerce business
  • Work together with the team to achieve targeted revenue goals on an annual basis.
  • Support the team in writing and distributing commentaries/views throughout the day, sending out trading axes, and communicating client views to the trading desk.
  • Generate periodic reports to assist management on macro strategy planning and business reviews.
  • Mobilize and coordinate existing resources within Wells Fargo to facilitate Wells Fargo’s objective, e.g. setting up calls with senior personnel of target clients and arranging business events for senior team members.
  • Work with other departments (i.e. trading, sales support, client service, marketing, legal, compliance) to ensure that all clients requests, inquiries, post trade issues are managed effectively.
  • Assist in maintaining relationships and keep up-to-date on global political, economic and financial trends.
  • Keep abreast of new or amended regulations and development of foreign or designated markets and advise Manager of any changes that may affect the decisions and planning in the trading/investment activities.
  • Maintain the highest standards of attention to detail and professionalism.


Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of Securities Sales experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English and Japanese.


Desired Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of macro (FX and Rates derivatives) sales/trading experience
  • Good understanding of derivatives.
  • Experience in dealing with major financial institutions including banks, insurance companies, regional banks and asset managers.
  • Superior communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Highly self- motivated; ability to work individually and within a global team.
  • Bachelor’s Degree and JSDA Class 1 Sales Representative certification required.
