Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. The team focuses on several key risk types, including conduct, credit, financial crimes, information security, interest rate, liquidity, market, model, operational, regulatory compliance, reputation, strategic, and technology risk.

The group provides leadership, enhances communications, assists with problem identification and solutions, and shares best practices. In addition, the group provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.

Wells Fargo Bank N.A. seeks a Lead Analytics Consultant in Charlotte, NC.

Job Role and Responsibility: Collaborate with various groups within the Conduct Risk and Independent Risk Management organization to identify and prioritize reporting and research needs. Will act as a data expert covering specific topics. Perform analysis of data and trends using available tools to support compliance to internal policies, procedures, and governance documentation. Design and implement reporting solutions in support of effective data sourcing strategies. Source data to be used for the Business Intelligence dashboards, specifically Tableau. Source data to be used for recurring reports, data extracts or information reports. Profile data to ensure it is of quality for reports. Review queries to ensure they are optimized. Engage with team to optimize database design, data aggregation and reporting. Partner with compliance, risk, and technology partners to develop reporting requirements. Create online dynamic reports and dashboards that provide users with self-serve capabilities. Develop customized reports, ad hoc analyses, or data visualizations to make recommendations for alternatives. Ensure timely completion of dashboard tools and engage with team to optimize reporting. Produce auditable evidence of quality checks. Align processes with reporting governance guidelines. Understand compliance and risk management requirements for supported area and support adherence to data management or data governance regulations and policies. Participate in company initiatives or processes to assist in meeting its risk and capital objectives and other strategic goals. Remote / telecommute work available, up to 2 days per week. Position required to appear in person at the location listed.

Required Qualifications:

Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Technology, or related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation involving data analytics.

Specific skills required:

  • Five (5) years of experience with SQL
  • Four (4) years of reporting and analysis experience
  • Two (2) years of risk management experience
  • Quality Assurance experience, including documentation, procedures, and data insights
  • Financial services industry experience
  • Experience with risk or complaints data
  • Experience working with cross-functional business teams implementing and driving accuracy and consistency for business focused reporting initiatives
  • Experience with Teradata
  • Experience with Tableau
